My SD card became read only after upgrading to mountain lion. Usually I'm able to change the permissions settings at the bottom of the "get info" tab but this time it says "you can only read". Is there another way to change permissions settings? The SD card was formatted in FAT32 format under Lion and I've been using it to transfer music for use in my car. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks.

tried that already. the repair disk option isn't available...

You have to do that in your partition, not the card
strangely this problem disappeared when I used an external SD to USB adaptor...
It says "Verify permissions failed: Insufficient privileges". Any idea what's going on?
Resetting the PRAM fixed my SD card issues.

I had a similar problem, but it turned out to be a mechanical problem. My Macbook Pro was not "seeing" the little lock switch. I've found pushing my card back towards the screen (towards the lock switch) clears up my problem.
Now I need to decide how annoyed I am with this and wether I want to trouple with my Apple Care.

Same mechanical problem. Moving the card switch a little bit fixed the problem.
Yep, it actually was a mechanical problem. Although it looked like the manual slider lock was set to unlocked, after I locked and unlocked it, and was very careful putting it back into the slot on my iMac I was able to read&write again
