What happens after you restart? Where does it sound as if the noise is coming? Fans? Left palmrest?
Do you have something to test your fan speeds, such as iStat Pro? How fast are they running? If it's a clicking noise, is it coming from the left palmrest.
It's unlikely that a software update would do any damage to your computer...

I restarted it but still the sound. No it is from the right palmrest. I was closely listening to it and i heared def the sound from there. Yes I have iStat Pro. It is more a crackeling noise from that right part.
I know, I it is so unlikely that the update would damage my laptop.. But the weird thing is that I have never heard that sound ever..

So right palmrest would be battery, and then moving back SuperDrive (unless you've a rMBP)... could it be the SuperDrive? If not, I think that it's best to take it into your local Apple Store and have them look at it as the battery should not be making any noise.

I have the same thing, except it's got louder now. What did the Apple Store say?
