Anyone else have ing trouble getting new thumbnails to show on the provider page in the new PSM?

I'll load a new thumbnail image for a collection and the new thumbnail will sometimes show up on the provider page in a day or so, sometimes it never updates, but continues to show the old thumbnail image. The new image will show on the collection page.

I've even gone as far as creating a new collection, move all the tracks to the feed in the new collection and delete the old collection. The new collection will show the thumbnail for the deleted collection.

I should also mention the thumbnails even have different filenames.

This is getting really frustrating.

    Yes! It's been driving me nuts all week, Shannon. I'm glad I'm not alone. Funny thing is that the correct images appear if you click on the collection. They just won't show on the provider page. I asked Steve W. @ Apple about this today and he suggested I post here. I've also seen our new banner image change slightly (height seems off) without me having updated it again. It's bizarre. But the collection icons not updating is especially frustrating, especially seeing as how I convinced some of our contributors to fix their images and they finally uploaded nice 300x300 ones. I think it's a bug.

    I am also having the exact same frustrating experience. I've updated 2 of our collection images and the new images display on the collections page but not on the provider page. Anyone have a work-around besides creating a new collection?

    Have you tried forcing an update to the collection in question? To do this, within iTunes U Public Site Manager -> Collections choose the collection in question and go the "Collection Page Configuration" page and in the toolbar along the top select "Update Collection". This will force the iTunes U systems to update the feed and in this case re-capture the collection artwork from the associated image URL.

    Thanks Duncan. Happy day! Updating the collection worked.

    We're experiencing the same problem, but the great option suggested by Duncan above no longer seems to be available. I do not see the option to update collection in the collection configuration page. Instead, there is a pop up with various tabs. The provider page does not show the thumbnails for 4 of our 6 collections, though they do show up in the preview version, and on the collections pages in the live version. You can see the problem at the "ibioseminars" page in i Tunes U. (Sorry, I don't know a way to point someone there without he or she going to iTunes U. and entering "ibioseminars" in search. If anyone knows how to point to your publisher page otherwise, please do tell.

    Any ideas how to fix?

    Thanks!!

    Hi again Duncan,

    I just realized that your email reply, if you send one, will go to the wrong person. The person who set up "ibioseminars" was David Driggers, but now the administrator is Lobsang Wangdu, and myself — Yolanda O'Bannon. If you would like to contact us, please do so at yolanda.obannon@ucsf.edu. We would like to change the admin email on our iBioseminars account. I'm not sure if you are an iTunes employee, but if so, can you help direct us to how to do this?

    Thanks,

    I'm having this exact same problem and want to echo ibioadmin above; "update collection" doesn't seem to be available any longer. Any ideas on how to get the images to show on the provider page?

    I'm having this problem also. I've deleted the orginal Collection 3 times and replaced with completely differtent thumbnail twice.  Still, the old thumbnail shows up.

    Please, please help if you know a fix for this.

    Thank you!

    Greetings Matt;

         More information please.  Are you updating your Collections using Public Site Manager?  Are you trying to update/replace a Collection thumbnail icon graphic?  All the best...

    Hi Syd-

    Yes I'm using PSM. And yes I'm trying to replace a Collection thumbnail.

    Thanks for your help!

    Greetings Matt;

    What file format are you using for your graphics? PSM seems to work best with .PNG files. I've had issues in the past when using other file formats such as .jpg.

    It is a PNG actually.

    The weirdest thing (and maybe this will help you) is that the thumbnail that shows up is a blurred version of the PNG file but with a different background than the one the I had originally uploaded.

    Greetings Matt;

    Just wondering if you've had any resolution to your thumbnail graphic issue.  Our site has been up since 2008 and although I've encountered issues with the graphics from time to time, your issue is a new one on me!

    If you're still having a problem, you might try sending a detailed description of the issue along with a screen capture and the url to your site to the following email address:

         itunes-u-request@apple.com

    All the best to you...
