I have an aperture library done with version 3.1.1. I have upgraded aperture to version 3.3.2 and now I can't open the library done in version 3.1.1. Any clue?

What happens when you open the 3.1.1 library in 3.3.2? Aperture should give you the option of upgrading the library.

How are you trying to open the library? What messages or errors are you getting?

I have the library file saved on Time Capsule and I am trying to open the file in aperture from the Mac Mini. However when I open it I have the message that the file permissions are not set correctly. So I open the file information and I try to change the permissions from only read to read and write, but I can't do that because it says I don't have the required privileges.

    So I am completely lost...

If you can help me I would really appreciate.

    Thanks

Is it in Time Machine (a backup) or are you using the Time Capsule as a normal disk?

If it is in Time Machine you need to restore it before opening it, you can't access while it is in Time Machine.

If you are using the Time Capsule as a normal network disk try opening Aperture while holding down the option and command keys. This will open Aperture's library first aid window. From there try running Repair Permissions.

However keep in mind a few things; one the Time Capsule is seen as a network drive and Aperture really needs to have the library on a local directly connected drive so this may not work at all or may be very slow. It would be best if you copied the library from the Time Capsule to a local drive on the Mini.

I have tried to run Repair Permissions but it says that Aperture cannot access this library. To use this library make sure this file permissions are set correctly.

However I can not modify file permissions...

I have also tried to copy the library to the Mini, I can open it and it says I should upgrade it to the new Aperture version, but when I click upgrade it says that it is unable to write to library and to check if the volume has enough disk space

OK you never answered any of the questions I asked in my last reply.  I can't continue with this until you do.

    regards

Sorry but I tried some other things.

I am using time capsule as a network disk.

I have copied the library file to the HD and then opened aperture with the option and command keys.

I received a message saying the library file was made with an old version of aperture and I should update it. I tried to update but it says that it is unable to write to library and asked to check if the volume has enough disk space. I don't know how to do because I put the picture archive on time capsule because I did not have enough space in the HD.
