Q: since mountain lion no calendar sync

Since upgrading to Mountain Lion I'm getting no sync between Calendar apps on a Macbook and an iPad. I have tried sync place via wifi and cable, neither works.

I am aware that sync is possible via iCloud, but I don't always have access to the web.

Has this most basic of features been removed, or am I missing something that I should do with ML?

Internet connections are necessary for syncing to occur assuming there are no other issues.

iCloud- Advanced Calendar and iCal troubleshooting
iCloud- Manually importing data from Calendar or iCal to iCloud Calendar

iSync is gone (though I believe you can recover it from a Lion installation if you still have one--google for it).
It was replaced with iCloud.

Understand that if a device does not have an internet connection, then it should sync automatically once in Internet connection is established. You don't need it to be permanently connected to the Internet.
