Q: ipod does not turn on but it does when its in a dock

hi there i have the ipod nano 6th gen i just today it wouldnt turn on when i wanted to listen to it but when i plug it into my ipod dock it works fine plays music fine but as soon as i take it off the dock it doesnt work no music comes through the headphones. is there any way i can fi it without having to send it away to get fixed

    So the iPod only powers on when connected to an external power source such as a USB port on your PC or Mac or when connected to a wall charger?  If so, that is a very good indication that your iPod's battery is shot and in need of replacement.

     

    Apple can swap it out for a flat fee or you can send it to a third party repair service for a bit less.
