Q: My SD card is not being recognized by iMac

Every Time we try to upload our photos, the iMac Doesnt read the sd card

iPhone 4, iOS 5.1.1

1. What camera is the SD card from?

2. What photo software (iPhoto or _____) are you trying to upload to?

3. Have you tried connecting the camera up to the iMac with it's USB cable?

Camera is a Nikon coolpix, when it's plugged in with USB it's fine. Yes iPhoto is what I'm using

If your not seeing the card in the Finder sidebar or on your desktop?

In 10.6 Click on Finder or your desktop and go to Finder > Preferences > General tab and make sure that External disks is checked,

and then do the same in the Finder Preferences Sidebar tab.

In 10.7 and 10.8 the Finder Sidebar Preference will look more like this.
