    HI,

    Which OS Version ?

    Which iChat version ?

What type of iChat name ?

If this is an Apple ID ending in @mac.com or @me.com then the passwords needs to match the AIM Limits (No more than 16 characters) rather than as many as Apple let you use.

I have acquired a used iBookG4 that has Mac OS X installed on it. How can I change the password to use it?

    Thanks, Norm

    Hi,

It really depends on how it was set up.

If it was set up to open at one particular Mac User Account then you should have access.

If it shows you a number or even a Single Mac User account pic at a Login Screen then you may be stuck.

Realistically the person selling you the iBook should have deleted their Own Account (Possibly by Erasing and Reinstalling the OS) and given it to you in a a relatively "Fresh" state.

They should have given you at least the Original Install Disks that came with it.

Without more info about the "acquiring" of this computer I would be reluctant to say more in a public forum.

    Hi,

I see no references to iOS 4.1 in this thread.

    How is that relevant ?
