Here is another interesting issue. I have a mac book pro with SL and logic pro 9 installed and after upgrading to lion sound track pro works like a charm.
What has me really bewildered is if i upgrade first to lion and then install logic pro 9 on as i did on my imac sound track pro instantly crashes.
is there a patch or anythign to fix this as its annoying to be doing music production on my imac and have to pull out my macbook to use soundtrack.
both machines are intel based machines.

I thought I had already posted a reply to this but the fault was an installation problem and was cured by copying the applications from my Snow Leopard drive to the Mac Lion drive.
SoundTrack Pro, Color etc all work correctly under Lion since that fix.
I don't know if this was a one off fault on my system or others have suffered it but luckily I was able to fix it.

For me though this was a brand spanking new and fresh install of logic pro 9.
The odd thing is the issue is with soundtrack pro only logic pro works like a charm and a very speedy one at that and so do the rest of the apps.
anything else i can try?

Perhaps this is the problem?

On my iMac Lion system the missing library is in another location. Color seems to launch okay on my system but I haven't tried using it. This would suggest that the path to the missing library, which is the cause of the crash, is not set properly which would be an insrtallation issue. Hope this helps.

If thats the case wouldnt other apps have the same issue. Do you have a fix for this?

I'll miss Soundtrack Pro - when it worked it was a fast and elegant stereo editor. When...it was also the buggiest piece of schrott that Apple ever released and it only grew worse with age. If I had the time back that I've lost to STP, I'd be a much younger man...

Interesting. I have a mid 2009 MacBook Pro that already had the full Final Cut Studio suite installed when I upgraded to Lion. Those programs are still running fine. Today I tried to install DVD Studio Pro on a brand new iMac, also running Lion. The computer refused to run the install, and pointed out that it is a Power PC application.

Yes I was aware that you can't use the installer with Lion or Mountain Lion.
My solution is to restore from a TimeMachine backup now that I have a working installation.

REALLY REALLY bad response seeing that the installers for FCS package won't work under Lion or Mountain Lion because they are Power PC Apps.

Are apple planning on releasing an updated version of this software for lion?
Currently Being ModeratedSep 9, 2012 11:05 AM (in response to eagles051387)
Very doubtful that there will ever be an update for Lion – or for any other reason.
FCS 3 runs fine on Lion. It's FCS2 that needs the PPC installer and requires a workaround. Many posts on these boards about the workaround.
