Mac OS XI have to hold down the option and D key to start the AHT - if you've a newish MBP you might want to try that - just make certain that you have a good Internet connection.

Mac OS XSo you don't get the globe with the Internet Recovery message? Holding down the D key should work for you then - and I'm not sure why it's not.

Sep 10, 2012 12:18 PM in response to RyanChancesby Linc Davis,If your Mac didn't come with discs, then you can only run the AHT by netbooting (option-D.) If it did come with discs, you need to order replacements from Apple customer service.
