Q: While listening the volume fades out on my 16GB 6th Gen Nano. The vol control slide bar fades out until the sound is inaudible. I can push the + vol back up but it's a tug of war for sound as it slides itself back down. I have reset 4 times. help.

While listening, the volume fades out on my 16GB 6th Gen Nano. The volume control slide bar automatically slides back to the - side of the volume meter until the sound is inaudible. I can push the + vol back up but it's a tug of war for sound as it slides itself back down. I have reset 4 times. Please help.

    If a restore to factory settings does not resolve the issue, it's likely hardware related, meaning you'll need to have the iPod serviced/replaced either by Apple or a third party service. A restore rules out the possibility of any sort of software glitch or corrupted data.

    Restoring iPod to factory settings

     

    Usually this type of problem starts to occur with the 6G Nano once it has come into contact with moisture somehow causing some of the controls to short circuit.
