Jeff_K im having the same issue. It freezes when trying to play Diablo 3 and trying to export an iMovie project. It also freezes when trying to play Minecraft that goes through Java (.jar). Web pages with 3D rendering also make the mac freeze.

This is not the same issue. The OP is specifically dealing with Adobe Flash video playback. Your issue is more of a hardware failure or overheating issue. You could try reinstalling the OS to fix any software probems, but I'm thinking it is probably hardware related.

I'll wait until 10.8.2, then if the problem persists I'll go to premium reseller and ask them to check for hardware issue. I hope it's not hardware related because they'll have to ship the new logic board to my country and it takes 90days (they don't sell MBP over here, just MBA).

just a update...once I installed mountain lion the issues no longer persists. I suggest visting a apple store if there is one near you and see whats up.

Yeah, if it is all of that then it isn't a software issue, unless it is a system specific software corruption on your particular machine. I would try booting from an external source to see if the problem still exists. Probably a hard drive failing. Remember if you have a spinning hard drive that you can not move the system when it is running and do not move it until the computer is completely asleep (the white light starts to pulsate).

Also, make sure your hard drive isn't full. This is for the OP as well. Full hard drive will cause kernel panics when playing flash video or utilizing other hard drive intensive activities. When you say "freeze" you have to be specific. Does the screen turn darker and provides you with an error message? This is a kernel panic.

I am also having this problem when I play Guild Wars 2...I'll go into an area and if too much happens at once, it'll freeze up. Also I notice from time to time on my Google Chrome Internet browser, it'll tell me shockwave crashed when watching videos and or on a chat site. I'm wondering if anyone who has switched to Google Chrome Canary as found this problem to be fixed? Let me know, thanks!
