do anyone knows what's wrong with my keyboard that sometimes it refuses to type anything? thank you.

fyi, it's not a wireless keyboard.

    You need to provide details.

    You can also try

One or more keys on the keyboard do not respond

i wonder maybe macbook pro has some kind of lock or setting to lock/unlock keyboard?

    Not to my knowledge.

"Details" means: What version of Mac OS X are you using? What application is active when this occurs -- Safari? iChat? Do all keys stop functioning, or are there some which still work, eg, the function keys, or the arrow keys? What happens if you use touchpad or mouse to switch to another app, eg, TextEdit? Can you type in that one? And so on.

And did you check if Mouse Keys are on, as described in the Apple KB item above?

I believe that Apple policy allows you to return a new MBP is 14 days for a replacement or refund.  You may wish to take advantage of that.

    Ciao.

Thanks for the pointer to that Technote!  The mouse key item inside fixed me right up.
