Q: apple tv not working in Saudi

I am trying to use US bought Apple TV (third generation) in Saudi Arabia. The locations listed do not include Saudi. Can anyone please advise how to start using Apple TV in Saudi.

    Unfortunatly, video and music content aren't available in your country (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3599) therefore, you will not be able to rent movies using your AppleTV.

     

    However, this should not prevent you to use your AppleTV but only to rent online movie.

    Yes, unfortunately because many content is blocked in Saudi Arabia, apple tv doesn't work properly. I had the same when I was in Saudi Arabia and UAE.

    My itunes account is in the US and worked just fine in the UAE, but I'm facing challenges here as well. I can see and browse thru the conten and even rent it, but it not loading ... waiting for apple support to tell me what to do.

     

    I'm not sure if a VPN on the apple tv would resolve the probolem ...

    I use boxpn VPN Service (www.boxpn.com). That provides great speed and reliability.

     

    But apple tv doesn't have a vpn client inside. So you need a router to connect boxpn network. Once your router is connected then every device connected to this router as well as your apple will get boxpn access.

     

    You then should be able to stream from iTunes.
