Safari won't play mp3 files

My kids teachers post homework assignments online in an mp3 files.

When I upgraded my daughters iPod touch 4th generation to io5, I was no longer able to play mp3 files directly from safari. It worked under ios 4.


Now that we have started a new school year my daughter is asking about this.


It doesn't make sense to me that apple would remove this functionality. Does anyone have this working?

    then use a computer download the songs, put them in itunes, make sure they are converted to AAC format then sync them over, its not apples responsibilty to make MP3's load from a website.
