Q: URL path missing from Smart Search Bar

Today I've notice the URL path (gray text in Safari 6 address bar) is missing:

I does show if I am entering an address or search term:

I've tried reseting Safari and deleting the preferences (from ~/Library/Safari and ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist). Did I happen upon some obscure keyboard shortcut?

MacBook Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.1), 15", 2.2GHz, 2GB Ram, Glossy Screen

I'm not sure how, but the address bar is normal again. It fixed itself after I updated my installation of Xcode.
