     Hey guys,

I'm currently debating on whether or not Final Cut Pro 10 is worth the investment. A couple years ago I got FCE4, right before it got discontinued. I'm pretty satisfied with what that program can do, but with FCPX having come out, I wonder if it may be worth the $299 you pay for it. Can anyone really outline the comparison between Express and Pro X for me? Having come from only FCE, and not from the $1K Final Cut Studio, I don't really care about the whole losing sountrack and color and all those other apps that come with Studio.

     Thanks!

Download the trial and see for yourself.

What are you cutting in FCE? If you are satisfied with what you have stick with it. There is no need to upgrade if you don't have to. FCP X is quite different from FCE.

In any case, there is a fully functional trial version that you can evaluate for 30 days. And you should be able to run both on the same machine.

    Worth $299? Absolutely.

New learning curve required. X is a whole new game from FCE/Pro.

Many of the features of Studio are incorporated into X so $299 is a steal in my opinion.

The most astonishing thing about FCP X is it's giveaway price!

I'd buy the App if it cost five or six times it's current price - it's saved me many, many hours of editing and I'm able to be more creative with it than I was with Studio.
