    I ordered two upgrades to the iPhone 5 16GB Black on Sept. 14th at 9:30am through AT&T premier.

     

    My order status still reads preorder processing and my card has not been charged. Furthermore it shows as backordered on the order status site: https://www.wireless.att.com/order_status/order_status

    My order date says 9/14. I still have the button to cancel my preorder.

     

    Here's my dillema: I am thinking about cancelling the preorder and just going to the Apple Store to wait on Friday. I am off that day, so I could easily go wait it out that morning. The problem is: can I buy two phones in person (one for each line on my account)? Any advice?

    I ordered same time and had the same problem I called att premiere and they said my order was processed but

    I couldn't see that it processed till Friday the 21

    I went to the AT&T store the day before the preorder on the 13th. I am moving out of state taking a new job soon and just wanted to make sure that when I change my phone number it wouldn't affect my contract after I upgraded to the iPhone 5. He told me I could go ahead and do the pre order that day, a day early, and guaranteed that I would get my phone shipped to me by Friday, the 21st, if not sooner. Now the phone is on backorder. My credit card shows the charge already. I called AT&T and was told there is no way to cancel the order. So my iPhone 5 might be shipped to an apartment in a state that I no longer live in. I can't believe I trusted AT&T to handle this and I can't believe I can't cancel the order.

    I spent 2+ hours trying to order on www.att.com and every time I got past the point where it said my phone was eligible for an upgrade and I would try to purchase the Black 64GB iPhone 5 it would crash, but finally around 5am CST it took my order successfully. I received an email of AT&T Premier order received although I ordered from the normal www.ATT.com website. I have a company discount that I recently added to my account, but I have had my number and account for 16 years, way before I was even with this company.

     

    It says 'Your iPhone has been reserved and should arrive as soon as Sept 21, 2012.'

     

    It says I can check the status in Premier at any time (which I cannot since I do not have a Premier account), but I can check it under order status on www.att.com and it just says pending... still... If I use the link someone posted on page 9 of this string, then it shows a 1 for backordered. Also my bank account was charged immediately on the 14th. When I call, they seem to not know anything, but that I should for sure receive it by October 4th, but maybe as early as the 21st.

     

    What happens if I just meander on down to Best Buy or the AT&T store on Friday to get one? Can I cancel the other order? Can they just transfer it to the one I get in person? This is really lame, that nobody at AT&T will say when my phone will actually be sent out. Also my order does say placed on the 14th and not the 15th like some folks have reported.

    Same issue as wolfgheist. Spoke to AT&T rep last night they said our phone will arrive between Oct 4-18th even though we were first to order, apparently Premier messed up the orders somehow. Also charged immediately, according to bank it is not a pending or pre-auth charge.

     

    Been on hold for 2 hours and 24 mins with Premier-waste of time they have no clue as to what we are talking about, I am not being transferred for the 3rd time to someone, waiting for the escalations department.

     

    I was thinking about walking into AT&T or Best Buy and getting one..cancelling pre-order but guess what? Our AT&T accounts show we already used our upgrades So its truly a catch 22.

    If you cancelled your order it should reset your upgrade elegibility. At least thats how apple does it.

    Yeah, but apparently dealing with AT&T and Premier its different, we were told last night they can cancel it but it may take 3-5 days to update in their system. So is it worth the chance?

    Look! They were overwhelmed by all of these orders. I ordered mine in the store at 9am on Friday and I still do not have a ship date? I don't really care since this is my first iPhone. I have had androids and blackberrys til now. I am happy to wait for what appears to be an excellent product!

    I pre ordered mine on www.att.com and it has been my personal account for 16 years and I just recently added a 'code' to get a discount for working for my company so ridiculous that it even put me in the Premier group (which is sounding more like the gimp group).

    It takes 24-48 hrs to fulfill an order (including verification).

     

     

    For those that have not gotten a Terms and Conditions email, you were probably a new att customer like me. Those that have gotten a T&C were already att customers.

    But in the end, whether I was the first customer (new) and Johnny was the 2nd customer (established), both orders will arrive at the same time. Because it is a Queue....NEXT!

    New att customers should know that Reps are sometimes Stupid!!!

     

    Please be aware that if you are a new customer and do not receive a T&C by tonight, please call 2ndary Sales by reaching: 1866-454-2506 (or regular phone sales or online order support) and verifiy that your Email is spelled correctly.

     

    Unfortunitely I am a victim of misspelled email address and I had to create a new email spelled the way the rep spelled it so that I can get the T&C that I am still waiting for.

    Ok, folks.  Just for the heck of it, I called AT&T to get status on my order.

     

    I'm the OP and one of those early orderers at 12:40am PDT on 9/14.  I received 2 emails and 1 text message so far confirming and congratulating on my order.  The lady said my order has been sent to the warehouse for shipping and currently in process.  She mentioned that my order is scheduled to ship out on 9/20.  However, she did not know where it would ship from.  I'm just hoping not China.  As long as it's not shipping from China on 9/20, I think I'm good to receive on 9/21 as scheduled.

     

    When I get a tracking number, I'll report back.
