Sep 17, 2012 12:48 PM in response to Allymcb17by Bsiders522,make sure you have nothing else plugged in, your using the cabel that CAME with the device and make sure itunes is updated, as well as restarting the computer and your plugged directly into the computer not a usb hub

Are other iPhones recognized by that computer?

Using windows based computer but have tried the iOS: device not recognised and followed procedures in control panel, programmes etc but still doing nothing

Done all of that too but still nothing, normally i just plug in and synch in progress comes up but nothing happening at all - usb port is working as i tried something else in it earlier so i am still lost :-(

Sep 17, 2012 2:45 PM in response to Bsiders522by Allymcb17,Well i have now tried all of the advice given above and i am getting a message under the 'diagnostic connectivity test' that everything is correct and working except under the section 'ports' and it says iphone is not recognised and when i press the help button beside it it says cannot open url...

Sep 17, 2012 3:09 PM in response to razmee209by Allymcb17,No, it is not jailbroken..it was bought on a contract with with my phone provider and it has worked in the past with synching and showing as device in the left panel but now nothing and i can't think of anything i have done to change this at all. When i try to use the apple service and support though i am getting 'missing url' with it too so i cannot get further than that to progress :-( it's driving me crazy

Sep 17, 2012 3:43 PM in response to whatheckby Allymcb17,I am trying that now but my security software is out of date and when i click on itunes troubleshooting security i get the message 'the page you are looking for cannot be displayed' i am trying to uninstall the security software but as yet getting nowhere
