Q: Am I the only one having ios 6 ipad 3 wi-fi issues

after my update to ios 6 I tried to set up the ipad and it was unable to join the network....so since then I have reset the network settings, NO SOLUTION!... tried messing with my wireless router settings and switching different channels NO SOLUTION!! , and also reinstalled ios 6 to see if that was the issue....NO RESOLVE!

I have come to terms with the fact that my ipad was fine and connected easily before ios 6 with ios 5, so its not my router or wifi settings.....and my ipod touch 4g was updated to ios 6 as well and it connects absolutely fine to my wifi now.....SO SO FAR I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THE UPDATE!

Wifi is also now broken on my iPad 3 and iPhone 4. Oddly, my iPad was working fine for several hours and it wasn't until I was in the process of updating my iPhone that my iPad conked out.

I have a Linksys router and suckily, it's not mine and I don't have access to adjust its settings.

I can't believe this made it out of Apple's QA process.

Having exactly the same issue.  Wifi initially works, and then eventually it reverts to 3G and then takes you to a www.apple.com log in page.  Not cool.  Office network so I can't exactly go tinkering with the router settings.  Anyone find a fix yet?

My iphone 4S is functioning but my new iPad will not keep the wifi signal on any router, any security settings.

That huge jump in stock price?  SELL SELL SELL in my humble opinion.

This is crap.  One hour to talk to someone in support.  Not worth it.  My new iPad is a paperweight.

I'm experiencing the same issue on my girlfriend's iPhone 4 after OTA update. A few seconds after connecting to WiFi I am thrown to a 404 page, and back to 3G. I've tried forgetting the network and rebooting the device, it hasn't helped.

    Netgear WNDR3700 running DD-WRT (NG-Mixed)

I've got an iPhone 4S running the iOS 6 GM that is able to connect to the same network without issue.

I am having the SAME issue. I installed ios6 on my iphone 4 at work today and everything is great. I installed it on my ipad 2 when I got home, and I cannot even connect to my own wi-fi! I hope apple does something about this quickly.

    This is non-sense.

I would think they would test before they release.

This is stupid. I am reverting back to old IOS

    I got it to work!!!!!!

went into the router and turned on parental controls/ website filtering for my ipad 3.  Blocked http://www.apple.com

turned the wireless back on, on the iPad and boom, no error.

I can connect to the router but then as soon as it has it brings up another window showing a page on the apple site saying it can't be found. I'm actually sending this message from this window now (because the error page was apple and there were links to this). The only way to exit it to click the cancel button on the top right of the screen but then it disconnects

I think the actual reason this popup facility exists is so that wifi hotspots that are set up by a company (eg bt open zone) that require a login can invoke this window and then one the user has logged in it would close (I'm guessing with some js) and they could then browse normally.

The problem is that the update seems to cause this to open randomly. Is a huge issue for people that don't have a computer as it's the only way I think it will be possible to update when they fix it.

How could they mess this up!

Here is what is going on. Ever since iOS 4(?) there has been a feature where if you connect to a WiFi network it will try to ping this site:http://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html

If it is a success then it lets you connect, if it is not a success the phone trys to bring up what would be a Login page for corporate wifi networks. Example, public access points that have a login page, etc.

It seems that some moron at Apple deleted the file located at http://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html and that is why it is not working.

This is not an iOS 6 issue but rather a problem with Apple's website.

Rebooting your phone will not help, nothing will help until Apple fixes the problem on their end.

I have the same problem after upgrading iPhone 3GS. Think it's a good guess that some server at Apple is down. Could it be the one that keep tracks of wifi locations ? :-)
