Q: Am I the only one having ios 6 ipad 3 wi-fi issues

after my update to ios 6 I tried to set up the ipad and it was unable to join the network....so since then I have reset the network settings, NO SOLUTION!... tried messing with my wireless router settings and switching different channels NO SOLUTION!! , and also reinstalled ios 6 to see if that was the issue....NO RESOLVE!

I have come to terms with the fact that my ipad was fine and connected easily before ios 6 with ios 5, so its not my router or wifi settings.....and my ipod touch 4g was updated to ios 6 as well and it connects absolutely fine to my wifi now.....SO SO FAR I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THE UPDATE!

My wife and I both updated our iPhones and iPads to have 4 devices not working. We found that resetting the network settings fixed the issue.  Go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. It's worked on all 4 of our devices!

I updated both my iPad3 and my iPhone 4s to the new iOS earlier today. The iPad (not 3g) wireless is working fine, the iPhone (AT&T 4G) gave me the same network login problems others are describing, it momentarily logs onto the network, then opens a "page not found" Apple web page in Safari, then disconnects from my network. The router is a Netgear N600 dual band gigabit router.

I think this is a App store issue, though. I followed steps I found in 1 post here, shutting off all apps, then restarting the network and still got the same issue. But I noticed that the App store was still trying to update 4 apps, Pages, Numbers, Keynote and iMove (apps that wouldn't update because they were over 50MB)

So I deleted the 4 apps, restarted the phone and now the network is running fine.

I suspect it will give out again the next time an app comes up for updating. I'm convinced this is an App Store problem.

I had the same issue of course. I killed the App Store and a couple of the new apps I installed when prompted. Once I did that, wireless worked again. This was on the latest iPad and my iPhone 4. I had tried forgetting the network, etc. prior to that. Killing those apps made everything work as expected.

Same thing happened to me. It stopped working all of a sudden after the iOS 6 install and I tried everything in the book. I was even changing settings on my router at one point. Nothing worked. It would connect for a second, drop off and then try to bring up a login screen from Apple.com with the message "Page cannot be found."

This is weird but it solved my problem both on my iPhone 4S and my iPad 3:

    • Settings>Safari>Clear History

    • Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and Data

    • Hold down the Sleep button until it brings up the Power Off slider. Power off and then turn on again.

    • Reconnect to wifi network using Settings>Wi-Fi

Now everything is hunky dory. Super weird!

I think I may have found the answer to the problem. Go into Settings -> Wi-Fi -> Hit the arrow next to your network -> Forget this network.

Then go back and turn on "Ask to Join Networks". try to connect to your network again, and it should work (at least it did on my iPhone 4 that was having this issue).

    Hope this helps.

I just installed IOS 6, and had the same issue.

This is what worked for me:

Settings --> Reset  --> Reset Network Settings.

    Hope this helps.

I was having this problem as well.  I am using an iPad 3 with an Airport Extreme Base Station.  I was able to solve it be doing this:

    1.  I deleted the network from my iPad's wifi.

    2.  I turned off the iPad wifi setting.

    3.  Go to settings, general, reset, reset network settings.

    4.  Once the iPad has restarted, enable wifi and enter your network and password again.

Seems to have corrected the issue.

    Hope this helps.

I had the same problem after upgrading to IOS6. I was able to fix it by assigning a static IP address. Choose your wirelessnetwork, click on the arrow next to it to configure it. Choose Static, give yourself an IP address, set the Subnet Mask, Router, and DNS.

So if your router IP address is 192.168.1.1

Give yourself IPad the IP address of 192.168.1.7 or something like that.

DNS should be the same IP address as your router

and the Subnet mask may be something like 255.255.255.0.

If you have a computer connnected, use that as a refrece.

Anyways, after upgrading to IOS6 I cannot connect to my home wireless using DHCP, I have to manually set the IP addresses. That worked for me, I hope it helps you.

    Best Regards...

    http://www.apple.com/library/test/success.html

This is the server that Apple attempts to connect to when you connect to Wifi to see if you are behind a Authentication System (Like at a Hotel) . . . It seems that page was down for a while . . . it seems to be working again.

I had the same issue.  I made sure I closed out of the App Store (double click on the home button and press on the apps till they wiggle and then close them out.).  After that.  It joined the wireless.  Looks like just a problem with the App Store app.

seems to be working now.  the appStore updates tried connecting to apple (might be running in the background),that's where the apple page-not-found came from.  so stop the updates from appstore (delete background process), and try again...
