Q: Am I the only one having ios 6 ipad 3 wi-fi issues

after my update to ios 6 I tried to set up the ipad and it was unable to join the network....so since then I have reset the network settings, NO SOLUTION!... tried messing with my wireless router settings and switching different channels NO SOLUTION!! , and also reinstalled ios 6 to see if that was the issue....NO RESOLVE!

I have come to terms with the fact that my ipad was fine and connected easily before ios 6 with ios 5, so its not my router or wifi settings.....and my ipod touch 4g was updated to ios 6 as well and it connects absolutely fine to my wifi now.....SO SO FAR I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THE UPDATE!

I experienced the same wifi problems after updating to iOS.  It would appear to connect and then an Apple page would appear and wireless would appear to not be working.

I tried to FORGET the network and join again, but the same issue came up again and again. Here is what worked for me

    1. Go to Settings

    2. Select GENERAL

    3. Scroll way down to RESET

    4. Select RESET NETWORK SETTINGS

    iPad will reboot.

Next, go to settings, wireless, select your network and it allowed me to browse/go to AppStore as normal.

Hope it works for you too!

I had the same problem, installed iOS6 and couldn't connect to my home wi-fi network. Once I connected my iPhone 4 with the 30 pin cable to my computer it connected over wi-fi no problem.

OK - here is the fix that worked for me.  Connect your iPad using the Hotspot feature on your phone.  Leave it up for a while so the iPad can do whatever it is it needs to do as part of the setup.  Then connect using wifi - magically it sticks!

Same thing happened to me. It stopped working all of a sudden after the iOS 6 install and I tried everything in the book. I was even changing settings on my router at one point. Nothing worked. It would connect for a second, drop off and then try to bring up a login screen from Apple.com with the message "Page cannot be found."

This is weird but it solved my problem both on my iPhone 4S and my iPad 3:

    • Settings>Safari>Clear History

    • Settings>Safari>Clear Cookies and Data

    • Hold down the Sleep button until it brings up the Power Off slider. Power off and then turn on again.

    • Reconnect to wifi network using Settings>Wi-Fi

Now everything is hunky dory. Super weird!

Setting static IP address worked for me too. I have iPad 2 32GB and after IOS 6 update Wi-Fi would not hold the connection and gave me the Apple page not found page.

Must be a problem with the DHCP client. Easily fixed so look out for iOS 6.0.1 tomorrow! ;-)

OK!! I found the solution. I just did it a minute ago.

GO TO you wifi settings. Tap that blue arrow next to your wifi

    Scroll down to HTTP PROXY

    Select AUTO.

    There BOOM!!!

    SOLUTION?

I have had same problems. What I did (in steps, not sure what helped, but it is working. iPad3 + Linksys router, also not sure if this was apple server problem??? maybe???):

    - skipped initial setup, until I did see 'desktop' and all 'icons'.

    - turned iPad off

    - turned it back on,

    - went to settings

    - turned WiFi OFF

    - turned WiFi ON

    - connected to my network, than touched blue right arrow,

    - clicked 'renew lease' (in top left corner my wifi connection stayed ON),

    - pressed button on the bottom of iPad (I am not apple guy ;-), I am not sure how you call it)

    - turned on my browser (in my case - dolphin browser)

    - iPad asked me for Apple credentials (login and password).

    - I am online! :-)

    Good luck!

    Chris

    What worked for me...

    1. Go to Wi-Fi settings on my device (iPhone and iPad)
    2. Click on the arrow next to my network and choose "Forget this Network"
    3. Turn off Wi-Fi on my device
    4. Go into my router settings and find the DCHP client table
    5. Remove my devices from that table
    6. Go back to my devices and turn Wi-Fi back on
    7. Click on my wireless network and re-enter my password
    8. Everything connected without popping up the apple sign-on page

I have also read that clicking on your wireless network on your device and then clicking on the "Renew Lease" button also fixed the problem.

    I had the same issue.

Once you choose your wifi and see the wifi signal on the upper left corner push next right away! It worked for me.
