Q: Am I the only one having ios 6 ipad 3 wi-fi issues

after my update to ios 6 I tried to set up the ipad and it was unable to join the network....so since then I have reset the network settings, NO SOLUTION!... tried messing with my wireless router settings and switching different channels NO SOLUTION!! , and also reinstalled ios 6 to see if that was the issue....NO RESOLVE!

I have come to terms with the fact that my ipad was fine and connected easily before ios 6 with ios 5, so its not my router or wifi settings.....and my ipod touch 4g was updated to ios 6 as well and it connects absolutely fine to my wifi now.....SO SO FAR I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THE UPDATE!

Saw this on Twitter.  Just as my wifi started working on my 4s.

"Turns out iOS checks apple.com/library/test/s to make sure WiFi doesn't require login, but that page was 404'ing, so, disaster. Crazy!"

Try clicking "Renew Lease" in the specific Network Settings.

My iPad 3 is now stable with WiFi

I also had the same issue with IOS 6 and my iPhone 4S. I rebooted and it still did not hook up to wifi, instead it went to that goofy Apple log in page that couldn't be found. Someone in this thread posted to choose "forget this network". I originally could not find "forget this network" on my iPhone but when I clicked the blue arrow next to my network name, there it was. I clicked "forget this network", went back and re-typed in my network name, voila! it hooked up to my network and it is staying connected. So far, no problems. Updating my iPad3 now, hopefully there is no problem with that one. Hope this works for you!!

Thanks waynest0rm, good info!! That makes a lot of sense. It didn't start with the iOS update, it started randomly this evening. And everyone seems to be back to normal now randomly. I love how everyone thinks their various solutions were the fix. Nothing was the fix, it was a server issue. That whole thing freaked me out! Glad it's over, if at least temporarily.

Hey folks I had the same problem with my iPhone 4 after I upgraded to iOS 6. After considerable troubleshooting I rebooted my Apple Airport Extreme wireless router and now it all works. After you power it all down and restart the router and computer, reboot your iPhone or iPad. It should work.

On iPad 2, went into settings > general > reset > reset network

This kind've went through a mini restart and then I went into settings again > wifi and selected my home wifi.  This time it asked for wpa2 password and once re-entered and confirmed I connected fine.

Been connected for about 30 mins now <phew>. Gonna try the same process on iPhone 4

I was having the same problem on my iphone 4 with a 2wire router at home.  After the update it wouldn't connect to wifi.  I went to settings-reset-reset network settings then did a hard reset on the phone and it wouldn't stay connected.  It did this for two hours and I tried multiple times to connect and then I picked up the phone to try resetting again and it went through.  I'm now connected to wifi.  Maybe you have to wait a while for it to reconnect?  Maybe there are parts of the update that are working under the hood that take a while to finish?  I don't know but mine is working now.  I came here first to see if I was the only one and if others were having issues so I wanted to pass on what happened to me in case it helps someone else.

Hey guys, you dont need to post what you all did to fix the problem, it is just a coincidence that between the time you were doing some random procedure apple fixed the problem. Its no longer happening to my iphone 4 and i didnt do anything to fix it.

I've the same issue.  New iPad Wi-FI + Cellular running iOS6.  I've Apple TimeCapsule 2TB latest generation as my router.

The iPad can't connect to my Time Capsule.  iPhone 4 works fine.  After attempting to connect to Wi-Fi - I get some wiered page not found error and bombs out.

    Apple pls fix it!!!

    Thanks.

    same issue.

    "forgot" the network.

    reset network setttings.

connected ... to the non-existant apple page

    forgot the network again

    reset the network settings again

connecting to the network has since worked fine.

That worked for me, and it still is.

I went back in to check the settings and found that the ip was automatically changed to DHCP, and it was still working fine. So this seems to be a working fix.

    Thanks

For the love of God (Steve?)  ... I'm getting mail bombed by the apple discussions site!  I've turned off replies to this thread about 8 times now but they still keep pouring in.  Sounds like Apple is having quite the day.

Now that they fixed their page it seems that my setups are working again.  Now if I could just stop getting 20 email notifications every minute it would be great
