Sep 19, 2012 2:01 PM in response to Smitanby Smitan,On further investigation it looks like this is an issue if you have iTunes Match turned on. When I switched that off I was allowed to delete as normal.
Hopefully this issue will be fixed soon.

Sep 19, 2012 6:40 PM in response to Smitanby JetJack,Yes you can detele songs if you turn off Music Match. If you turn it back on the songs redownload.
It used to be that with it turned on that you could delete songs off your device to save space, but they would still show with an iCloud icon next to it incase you wanted to redownload. It doesn't work that way anymore, seems to be all or none.
Anyone figure out how to delete song while still being able to redownload?

Sep 19, 2012 7:38 PM in response to Smitanby Badoan, confirmed that turning itunes off then you can delete music again, but you'll lose all your itunes match playlists. its takes a little to turn itunes match back on too but when you do itunes match playlist will all be there again.

Apple exec: we need to add a new feature to itunes music player app and compete against pandora and other music streaming companies.
employee: how about finally allowing our customers to stream music like how it is on the computer now that there is LTE.?
apple exec: good do that. hum. but now we dont need the ability to delete songs anymore if you can stream and use up wifi and 3g lte data. so remove that feature. we need to be cutting edge!
employee: what if they really dont like the song or they run out of space and need to delete some songs..?
apple exec: humm.. well i guess they have to get the 64 gb now dont they? muhahahhaha

Sep 19, 2012 7:39 PM in response to Smitanby uselessSABOTAGE,If you have itunes match on, when looking at an album (not a list of albums or songs) if there is a cloud icon at the top it isn't store locally. If you do not see that icon then it is stored locally and eligible to be deleted.

Sep 19, 2012 9:02 PM in response to uselessSABOTAGEby tazz1973,Except it doesn't work for me... I can have "show all music" on or off and I can't delete the songs locally stored...
