Q: Am I the only one having ios 6 ipad 3 wi-fi issues

after my update to ios 6 I tried to set up the ipad and it was unable to join the network....so since then I have reset the network settings, NO SOLUTION!... tried messing with my wireless router settings and switching different channels NO SOLUTION!! , and also reinstalled ios 6 to see if that was the issue....NO RESOLVE!

I have come to terms with the fact that my ipad was fine and connected easily before ios 6 with ios 5, so its not my router or wifi settings.....and my ipod touch 4g was updated to ios 6 as well and it connects absolutely fine to my wifi now.....SO SO FAR I AM VERY FRUSTRATED WITH THE UPDATE!

I don't understand why millions of people are screwing around trying to configure their router settings in an effort to resolve the WiFi issue.

This is a bug with Apple iOS 6, and only Apple will be able to permanently resolve the problem.  Do you really think Apple would release iOS 6 and then expect millions of people to sit around for hours and days at a time configuring millions of different router brands in order for their new release to work properly?

If you're able to solve this problem with a temporary fix, that's great, but in the long run, you're at the mercy of Apple right now, until they permanently figure this out and fix it!

Below fixed the problem (Source: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4310121?start=75&tstart=0)

    FIX:

    Settings > Wi-Fi > (Network...) > "Blue Circle Arrow"

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and set:

    HTTP Proxy to Auto

    This fixed it for me...

I don't know either... Yesterday, I got home and tried to download iOS 6 and it was almost finished and it said error? Tried multiple times and still the same thing? Plugged it into my computer... Same issue! (this is happening on my iPad). Tried my iPod touch, downloaded in 50 minutes no problem? I'm very unhappy with this and hoping apple will fix this! If not I'm staying with ios 5.1.1! Does anyone have this issue? Or anyway to fix it?

Here is how I resolved this issue. It requires downgrading your firmware on your Netgear Router - WGT624v3, but it works:

I am not even able to update to iOS 6 on either my iPad 3 or my iPhone 4s. So there is something strange with this update.

Had the same issues last night with iPad 3, 4 and a 4s. Reset the router and modem. After the 3,4s and 4 would not connect to the wifi I erased all content and settings. And after the iPad and the phones started again I choose to restore from the backup I performed in iCloud before I downloaded the update. They all work fine now.

Ok... Now try downloading an app that's larger than 50mb... Or stream a video for 3-4 minutes... After a few minutes your data will hang... Wifi appears to be connected by looking at the wifi indicator, but your data has stopped... At that time your safari or mail apps would have stopped as well... After you see that the data has stopped, turn off wifi, wait a sec, turn it back on... Your data will start again until you have passed a certain amount... I think people are thinking its fixed by resetting the wifi, but until they push more data across than just safari browsing and maybe standard email, the problems come right back... When I'm on my 4s on 3G or my iPad (3rd gen) on LTE or 4G, all works the entire time... Only works on wifi for a limited time depending on the amount of data used between resetting my wifi or power cycling my device or clearing network settings... Anything that resets the wifi connection in some way...

Try the app download or install the speedtest.net app and run it 3 times or so and watch what occurs...

    Let me know...

    Thx

The Wi-Fi problem was apparently caused by an Apple server outage. One suggested fix is to go to

Settings > Wi-Fi > tap the blue arrow next to your Wi-Fi network name > Renew Lease

I am experiencing the same problems since I've updated my Ipad 3 to iOS6 yesterday. It cannot connect to WiFi anymore. Sometimes I get the indicator bars but no internet connection whatsoever. My Android device has no problems. My router is a Siemens Gigaset SE551. Please provide a solution to this Apple, this is unacceptable.

He, maybe they are complaing ecause they have a problem.?

Should they avoid complaining as long as you don,t have a problem?
