Sep 20, 2012 1:31 AM in response to cboy2012by Ocean20,Load google maps in safari and then choose to have that on your home screen and use that

Sep 20, 2012 1:43 AM in response to Ocean20by cboy2012,It's not a good solution, since the map website opened in Safari cannot determine user's location accurately.
In fact, it always has about 2 miles west of where I'm actually standing.

Sep 20, 2012 1:51 AM in response to cboy2012by Richard Cartledge,Yes, and many apps use the in-built maps API which now links to the useless Apple Map.
Find my friends? No chance.Find my iPad? Forget it!

Sep 20, 2012 2:03 AM in response to Richard Cartledgeby cboy2012,Yes, I found that as well. Even the Google Latitude for iOS is referring to this in-built Apple map.
I think my iPhone is discounted after upgrading to iOS6. It's no longer worth that money because of this Apple map.
Apple is ruining itself. And I want my money back !!!

Sep 20, 2012 2:37 AM in response to cboy2012by cboy2012,Definitely, it is a huge mistake made by Apple... The Apple map only contains a broken Chinese map... where is US? Where is Europe?

Sep 20, 2012 6:33 AM in response to Geo82by dug262sn,Apple - you better get your act in gear because this is worthless!!!!!!!!! In major cities it is ABSOLUTELY imperative to have traffic flow indications at least at the level of what Google Maps has provided me for the past 4+ years. My sanity depends on finding alternate routes based on traffic flow. What you have released on iOS6 is a piece-o-s**t now... I don't need turn by turn when I basically drive the same highway back and forth 5 days a week. I just want to know if i can take a left and keep moving to avoid sitting in miles of backup.
A best case scenario, I want to roll back my OS....you better listen to the public or unfortunately you will alienate your customers and lose marketshare.
You have lost focus on what people depend on. Passbook too - really? I don't fly everyday, I don't go to 5 concerts a week, nor do I frequent Starbucks...
FIX IT ASAP!!!!!!!!!!!

Sep 20, 2012 6:44 AM in response to cboy2012by OneX,*** is this..
I just updated to IOS6, ok ok i can handle no youtube but not Google MAP, you guys are killing me here. This stupid Apple Map is a Piece of TURD. I type an address and lets say Route by Public transportation and its asking me to either buy an App for directions or download a free one. Only when i set Route by driving it shows me how to get there. Apple People get Google Map Back, really this app ***** and you guys know it. C'mon dont be so proud, i bit of humility its good to. Swallow your pride and get Google Map back and running.
Peace out

Sep 20, 2012 8:18 AM in response to cboy2012by ksri45,Yes I want my google back. Apple should tell us how to get back the google map or create an app equivalent to what we had with iOS 5.1.1

Sep 20, 2012 8:37 AM in response to cboy2012by Kenny Velez,Just adding my voice. Can't stand the new app, especially for me living in the ny metro area I rely on the public transportation routes a lot and now theyr'e gone and the apps which they recommend do not work. In my 2 years with this phone I've never contimplatled jailbreaking and have steered people away from it but for the first time I am thinking about it.

Sep 20, 2012 10:17 AM in response to cboy2012by inaxsesable,I completely agree. The new map is a step backwards. I want google maps back. I'm up for renewal now, maybe I'll get it back on a Google phone.

Sep 20, 2012 11:04 AM in response to ksri45by bohobonfire,I agree. This "update" is horrendous! If I had any idea what I was getting into, I never would have downloaded it. Unfortunately I trusted the quality of Apple products that I have come to expect. Guess that trust is shot now.
I want to be able to roll back to the old OS so that I can continue to actually find the transit directions that I need and use every single day. There isn't a single app that replaces the functionality of Google Maps. I'm not even going to BEGIN to go into how many other ways this version of maps is a complete failure.
All I have to say is... I want the old OS back... or I am going to be looking into switching to a Droid. This is just such a huge letdown.

Sep 20, 2012 12:37 PM in response to cboy2012by OlenK,I go to satellite or hybrid view, I get a grid, I do live in a remote area Washington DC, so them not having good overhead satellite maps is to be expected I guess. Yea, sarcasm. Did this get tested anywhere outside of Apple HQ? Took a good function, and removed the wow factor, isn't Apple known for doing it the other way around?
