Agree, just looked around my location, lake has wrong name, shows a golf course that closed years ago, will keep my google maps for now...

Couldn't agree more. I'm in the UK, and the new Maps app is laughable. Entire towns are missing, and the image resolution is appalling. How could Apple have got it so wrong?? Maps is a downgrade, not an upgrade. It's shocking!

I agree, I dont like the new maps app at all. Its slow to load the map compared to how google used to load where Im at. I updated to ios 6 on my 4S this morning and am very dissapointed in the maps app.
The location is wrong, maps are old in satellite view.
I tried to get a route from my current location to home and got the message directions could not be found between these two locations.
I heard they get the data from tomtom, so why is it that my actual tomtom in my truck is much better at getting directions than this new map app? surely they should have the same data updates.....
Ive resorted to hiding the apple map app on a homescreen page and adding the shortcut to maps.google.com on my home screen instead. Hopefully they will update it to where it is actually working better soon. I doubt they will ditch it with investing so much in mapping companies etc. but they could at least get it working better.

Very disappointed with maps app in ios 6 it's rubbish. A backward step by about 10 yrs. the rural area I live in Derbyshire is blurred. Adjacent area clear. Have book marked google maps. Much better

Have been using apple products since 1989. Only used Microsoft windows at work because I had no choice but the the maps app is the worst app I have ever seen. Not the quality expected from Apple. They should pull this app quick to save further embarrassment. This is the first time I have ever written in a forum. But apple maps in my area of Britain *****. Wouldn't give it 1 out of 10 hope google maps bring out an app fast. Whoever introduced maps for IOS 6 needs a huge pay cut for taking us back to dark ages lol.

In addition to all the problems found by the other posters, I loved the capability of searching for a place, for example a restaurant, and immediately adding it to my contacts in order to build up my database of favorites (with address, telephone number, etc.). Now I can't do that anymore even if I use maps.google.com.
I am currently living in Brazil and the database that Apple has on its maps is so so bad. Really considering whether to downgrade back to IOS5 :/
I can't believe Apple got it so wrong this time.

The satellite view of my neighborhood is over two years old in this app. The houses that have been there for years are nothing but plots. How could Apple release this with such obvious flaws. Bring these maps into 2012 please!

Guys, just posting here will not convince Apple to reconsider their "strategy" on kicking out Google map.
Report your disappointment to the Apple feedback page.
Hopefully they will take us in consideration.

Agree that the ios6 maps app is disappointing regarding certain functionality. It is particularly lacking in providing useful live traffic information compared to the old Google maps app. For me, it appears that traffic information is limited to expressways in the new app. The old Google app provided traffic information on secondary roads as well.

Agree that sending them direct feedback should help. They do look at these pages as well though. Another important step is social media. Apple can't just ignore it if everyone is talking about it..

I do agree with you "nuno", but sending a direct feedback to express your disappointment or satisfaction is a far more direct approach.
