I can do a backup of Reminders, Calendar, Contacts, from within the application should I ever want to restore the detail. I actually do this daily along with Bookmarks. Problem comes with Notes. I need to do the same type of backup. I do not use iCloud. With Stickies, you could backup the Stickes database. Is there such a database that can be used to restore the Notes? Thanks.

    OK, there is a plist file and a folder called Data. I gather that I should backup the entire folder com.apple.notes? Thanks.

    Yes, I would.

    But why not just use Time Machine?

    Actually, I do use Time Machine. Now, thanks to yur help, I know what to look for. I also do manual backups to a NAS. Thanks again.

    Macjack, you where helpful in the past with this thread. I was wondering if you also know the location of the following;

    Safari bookmarks

    contacts

    ical

    reminders

    I am experimenting with iCloud and want to remove All information from the Mac before I turn iCloud on so I can have better control over what syncs.

    Thanks

    So when I say "~/Library" I mean your hidden Library in your Home folder. Go to your Finder "Go" menu hold the option key to choose "Library". YOu can then drag it to your Sidebar for easy access.

    ~/Library/Safari/Bookmarks.plist

    ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook

    ~/Library/Calenders (also check ~/Library/Application Support/iCal) although I think those are old.

    ~/Library/Containers/Reminders
