Q: I have a grey screen, then flashing question mark folder. Nothing fixes it :(

I have tried safe start .. no difference. I've tried the option key start...no difference. If I try to boot from disk then I can hear it trying to read it then it ejects the disc!! Please help!!
It started after the computer crashed and I had to power off from the button. When I restarted it just went to Flashing ?
