Apple Maps are so abysmally bad so as to defy comprehension. How Apple could release this and take away our option of Google Maps. Give back Google Maps while you fix what must be one of the worst apps ever. If we could rate it at the app store we'd give it 1/5 because that is the lowest score possible.

I for one will not be upgrading my iPhone4 or iPad2 to iOS6 or getting a iPhone5 until Google Maps is restored as was. Apple should simply admit that it is has got it completely wrong by introducing a substandard substitute for the exisiting reliable, accurate and high quality mapping. If it wasn't broken there was no need to fix it. As a loyal Apple user, I am deeply disappointed and Apple risk losing my custom.

Open google maps in safari and save a shortcut on your homescreen. Works just as well or even better than the old iOS 5 maps.

You can follow this article to downgrade your iOS operating system back down to iOS 5.1.1 and regain Google Maps again. Make sure you do an iCloud back up firstly though. Alternatively you can follow the other suggestions.

Where do we click to do the downgrade? Did Apple delete your link! New maps are absolute rubbish! I'm on 4S and intended buying the iPhone 5 but that's not gonna happen now. If I can't get the old maps back then here I come Samsung!!

Yes, one can do it, but then there is less space for the maps, as Safari stays on... and switching between layers requires 3 more clicks...so in general, Apple hit the bump on this...
Why the heck on earth removing the youtune too... only cause its google too??

Google are supposed to be working on an iPad version of their YouTube app (they currently have an iPhone-optimised app in the store) and on a Maps app. For YouTube you could also try accessing the mobile version of the site via Safari : http://m.youtube.com

Apparently Apple and Google's contracts ended for maps and youtube. Your options are to find apps to install, either from google (the aforementioned youtube app) or from a third party or use safari to access the mobile sites for the programs.

Well actually Apple has said that they had a contract with google maps for 1 more year, So why did they trash a well working feature ?
What Apple is suggesting is to use a app that is not intigrated with you addressbook. Simply not good enough.

Google maps was our favorite feature of the iphone. I personally feel like I bought a v8 that just turned into a lawn mower engine. My fiancé, her dad, his wife, and I were planning on buying the new iPhone and i was trying to talk my mom into buying one but now we won't even consider it. Do the math. how much money lost for apple is that?! This whole thing must be killing them!
