HT1338 2003 PowerBook G4 12" / Power PC processor @ 867MHz / 640 mB RAM: Meets requirements for OS-X 10.5. Install successful, but hard drive not showing up at all. Finder prefs checked. Cannot find at all. Unit performs OK. Any info?!? (Install disc is a copy.)

After installing this system, everything appears to work as expected. Hard drive not showing on desktop, or anywhere else. Checked Finder preferences and made sure that the "show hard drive" was checked. Searched with Spotlight. Nothing. Ran Disk Utility from start up disc and passed verification of permissions and hard drive integrity.

 

The install disc used was a copy. Could be corrupted? Apple Support states they never heard of this happening.

 

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
