I currently have an iPhone 3Gs and I am upgrading to the iPhone 5. I back my phone up to the cloud. How do I get everything from my 3Gs to my 5? Will it automatically do it when I sign into the could on my new phone. I don't want to turn my phone on until I know how to do it.

iPhone 5, iOS 6

When you power on your iphone 5, it will ask for your icloud info.  After that, it will start restoring everything.  Also, you can go to icloud.com and view things such as contacts, notifications, etc.

Hi there.  Before doing anything, make sure you back you 3GS one more time, in your case, to iCloud.   Then, turn your new phone on and follow the steps.   It will give u the option to either restore from iCloud back up or iTunes back up.  You would just choose from iCloud.  And it should take care of the rest.

I'm on the icloud.com website and don't see my music. Does this not backup to the cloud? Under iCloud in my settings music isn't an option

For music, you will need to backup with iTunes.  You can transfer all the music from your phone to itunes, and then you can copy it back over.

I know I'm asking a lot of questions. So if when I start the phone i say restore from icloud..but then sync with my itunes.. will that erase everything gathered from my cloud?

It won't erase anything from the cloud.  If you want control of what iTunes backs up, change the sync settings and only allow it to backup your music.

Thank you. Did you get an iPhone 5? I am not home yet and have heard people are hearing rattling in theirs. That makes me very nervous/angry.

I have not received my iphone 5 yet, but I did have the privelege of trying one.  The rattle comes from the iSight camera.  It's perfectly normal and is even present on the 4 and 4s.

My 4s had the issue.   I replaced it once and the replacement had it too.  My ip5 also has it.  I went to Apple to have them check it out and even the floor models have it.  The genius went as far as checking some of the other staff's iPhones (4s / 5) and they had it too.  So, as long as it doesn't get worse or inhibits my use of any of the phone's features, I'll have to deal with it.

My iphone 5 does not rattle at all although my iphone 4 did. So If mine doesn't rattle, they're probably not meant to rattle. If that was normal everyones iphone 5 should rattle.
