    Merrick's answer helped me.

My contact was in exchange so I think that is why it couldn't find my 'home' when trying to make the reminder. Also, google maps doesn't know my address so I think the pin drop will fix when it notifies me. I also had tasks as the default so it wasn't trying to set a place by default.

    This was a big help!!!

Hi there I had the same issue, here's what I did it worked for me hope it helps

First go to contacts and delete your home address turn off your iPhone and turn it back on, when you turn it back on ask Siri to remind you something when you get home Siri is going to say: "I don't know your home address tap your name if you want to enter it now"

Tap your name enter your addres and it should work now, a least it worked for me hope it helps good luck!!!

    All Solved!!

Once you have entered your home address, tap it. It will take you to the maps app. Once you're on the maps app drop a pin on the **road** next to where you live. Add this pin as an address and delete the one you had previously. Change the name of the address to home (its a default *tag*) and it should be working!!

Ask Siri to take you home and you will cheer as it send you on your way.

    Woot Woot

Having this same problem with iOS 6 now location services is enabled for Siri in the UK.

It's my postcode. My postcode is of the form:

CB1 1AB (not the exact postcode - the second half isn't the real bit, but you get the idea).

If it's not there, he can find it.

If it's CB1 1, he can find it.

If it's CB1 1AB, he can't. He claims he can't find an address for my home.

This is extremely frustrating! I can't not have my postcode set on my contact details!

I had the same problem and realized that when I wanted to add a new address it said "home" by the street.  So I looked at my current address and it just said "address".  I clicked on it and chose home, and all is well now.

Ok... if you live in the UK you need to do the following. Drop a pin at the address..use the postcode at that pin location ie GL53 4 and no other number or letters. Do not use a house/Flat number or appartment complex name. Same goes for work and all of the other addresses.  God that waas driving me crazy for a while .

I had the same problem just now; Siri recognised my work address but not my home address.

It started working immediately after I removed the country from my home address and then selected it anew from the country selector, all my own card in the iPhone Contacts app.

I had this problem and was able to fix it.

I live in a place that has street names like "Northwest 54th Street", etc.  I had my address as (and, btw, this is a made up address) NW 54 St.  Whenever I would ask Siri to remind me to do something when I got to/from my house it couldn't do it.

So, I went in and changed the address.  Instead of "NW 54 St", I changed the address to "Northwest 54th Street".  Notice that not only did I write out the Northwest, but i also added the "th" at the end of the number.  Ever since then Siri now works perfectly for commands like that.

My hypothesis is that if Siri is unable to recognize your address, it won't allow you to set reminders to it.  This makes sense because how is it supposed to set a reminder for your house if it doesn't recognize where your house is?

My suggestion would be to try to lookup your home address in Apple maps.  Once you have it up on your screen, use that exact address in the Contacts card that Siri uses for your information.

    Hope this helps!

I have tried every suggestion in this forum, and I'm still having this problem. Seriously, how has this bug persisted for so long?

    Solution;

Find your address in Maps, then add this to a contact. Make sure that contact is set as your info in Siri options

When it is recognized as a valid address (rather than just bits of info) if will appear blue in your contact info

Worked for me, hope it helps

I had the same problem at first.  To correct it do not use home in your address book.  Use your full name then fill out the information there and it will work as long as you provided your first and last name to the phone.  In the General-Siri-My Info settings make sure that is pointing to your contact information in the contacts list.

Found that some other UK home addresses have the same problem. Some post codes recognised in full. Some Siri only recognises the address if I use the short address postcode ie TN27 9 instaed of TN27 9XX

Very annoying, it means I cant have a full address in my contacts. What is the point of that?

Yup, same problem here, the fact that people are even trying to jump through these ridiculous hoops for such a long time to get an address tagged as home recognised by Siri is somewhat sad, but I can confirm that it doesn't seem to like the full UK postcode. - Which makes it rather annoying

Only solution is to clutter up your address card with a fake home for Siri and a real home address for everyone else!

I have been trying to sort this for ages and it seems you get no joy from Apple UK on this, however the siri problem was very frustrating as it would allow you to find the address in maps but refused to recognise the address with Siri!

Postcode doesn't work sometimes, especially in areas without house numbers but will sometimes work with full postcode with house number, but its random. It's quite happy with my sisters address in Leeds with full postcode and my mothers address in Nottingham but refuses to recognise addresses in Rutland or Norfolk!

But any address that it doesn't recognise I just drop the last digit of the postcode and then Siri can find it.

    Hope this helps
