I'm having same battery drainage problem after restoring my iphone5 from an iPhone 4 backup.

Drains really bad when on LTE. However still drains 30-40% overnight when not even used and no apps open. That's horrible.

Tried reset all settings options and will see how it does. So far will drain about 1% every 3-4 minutes on wifi. Doesn't seem as bad as yesterday but not great. Try the reset all settings option and see if it helps for you.

I'm going to share my experiences in case it helps.  I'm coming from the 4S.  I've noticed no difference between the 4S and the 5 *except* when I'm reasonably certain it used the LTE network.  You guys could try turning off LTE and seeing if that makes a difference.

I keep reading people also having this problem with their iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s now and indicating that it may be an iOS6 problem rather than a hardware problem.  That being said, my iPhone 5 is losing battery at a rate of give or take 20% an hour.  I am on 4G but not LTE AT&T.  This is with regular usage of the internet without videos or anything.  I wish I knew if it was hardware or software.

I have the same experience.  Restored backup from iPhone 4 backup yesterday after getting the iphone 5 yesterday. The battery seems to run down very quickly.  I've already looked through all my settings to ensure no bluetooth, WiFi etc. are turned on. LTE is  not  prevalent in my country (Singapore), the drain could not be from LTE usage. It looks like the battery life ***** regardless of country.  This is turning out to be a scandal for Apple, much like the antenna issue of iPhone 4.

Got a question: I noticed that the Location Service tiny arrow appears in the top right corner,  when I turn it on under Settings-->Privacy-->Location Services.  I did not activate any app that requires location service (e.g. Maps), so that's unexpected.  On my iPhone 4 previously,  the arrow does not appear,  even with the Location Services turned on (but no location service app started). Only when I start up an app that requires location service will the arrow appear.  How can I make that arrow disappear, without turning off Location Service? I'm not sure if that could explain the battery drain.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. Fully charged at 2pm, Left with 5% battery at 930pm (7.5 hours later), with some use of 3G and some time of standby.

Each percent of battery takes only 2-3 minutes to be used up when using 3G.

Really hope that there will be confirmation soon on whether it's a software or hardware problem.

While browsing on Verizon LTE, I've lost 30% with 1 hour of usage and 1 hour of standby.

I'm experiencing battery life issues as well.  iPhone 5 restored from iPhone 4, 100% last night at around 1am when I went to sleep, now at noon its 42% and I haven't used it yet today.  There's no LTE by me.  I'm on WiFi and "4G" (ATT Model).

No apps are indicated as running anything in the background (ie no location, audio/video, etc..).

I am also noticing a fast battery drain with the iPhone 5 - but to be honest i think I have found the issues with mine,

Firstly while being at work today I was only getting 1 Bar 3G so that would not have helped

Secondly i had left the auto brightness running - I am sure thhat has a bug of some sort as when I lock my phone and leave it for a short period, then unlock it the screen is very dim (auto kicks in and rockets it to full brightness)

Ive been testing the iPhone 5 against my iPhone 4S today and the stats are as follows

iPhone 5 - 100 to 22% in 8 hours with only 2 hours of usage

iPhone 4S - 100 to 70% in 8 hours with only 2 hours of usage

I will keep monitoring it over the next few days and report back if anything changes

You're asking for trouble restoring from such an old back up. Restore as new and I'm sure you'll be fine.

I am as well experiencing a 1% drop every 3-5 minutes with no usage (no appes running in the background either) other then click the home button to check the battery icon every 3-5 minutes. No where near what my 4s was getting. Very disappointed at the moment

I just don't think it's LTE, as many do. I've been on wifi since my phone arrived yesterday (send diagnostics turned off), and my battery is draining much faster than my two year old iPhone 4 ever did. Dropped 6% in the last 10 min.

No LTE / 4G in UK yet, my battery level is falling like a stone all day. Poor show, I thought this thing was supposed to have much better battery than the life of my 30 month old 4.
