Sep 23, 2012 1:38 AM in response to drivelineby Jctran,Hmm..my co worker has a 4s and updated on Wednesday had the wifi loss too but was only very brief. He later concluded that it was because of congestion within the network. I did doubted him that it not that and firmware related.

Watch the video. Downloading Hulu on my i4 nd i5 at the same time. Same wifi, same location. I even started the i5 first on accident. Just wanted to include to corroborate my post earlier. Lets go with the fix or explanation Apple! This makes you look terrible!

Sep 23, 2012 1:51 AM in response to tobifsby StuartMack,I started looking in to this as it took 24hrs to restore my iPhone 5 apps from iCloud. I've tried with fours routers, and experienced the same packet loss issues - for example speedtest gets 6mbps down (full speed for my line) but then can't even test upstream.
Finally I've connected to an old zyxel G router, which works perfectly... It's highly likely this is an encryption AES v TKIP problem, so off to play with settings some more...
It's just a question of hardware or software - return it to store or wait for fix!

Sep 23, 2012 1:54 AM in response to drivelineby AussieJack,Ha yeah so true. I made a couple of calls and was shocked to see the battery was down to 54% when my old IP4S would go most of the day before it got so low.

Sep 23, 2012 2:05 AM in response to drivelineby AussieJack,To be honest I seriously considered a Galaxy 3 but when I considered what I paid for on Apple apps and music and how all that would be wasted I decided on the IP5. I'm not saying I regret it yet but so far its been disappointing.
