Sep 23, 2012 8:28 AM in response to rajbmacby BGreg,Assume you have OS X 10.5 Leopard or 10.4 Tiger today. Requirements for Snow Leopard are 1GB of memory, and while that will work, depenidng on what you run, it's usually a good idea to install more memory than the minimum, for better performance.
Your Intel-based mini has two slots, and depending on the model, can handle between 2GB to 3GB of memory. OWC and Crucial are both reputable brands of memory, if you want to buy it yourself. Installing memory yourself in these models is a bit challenging, which you can see by this video. If you'll need someone else to upgrade the memory for you, look for an Apple Authorized Service Provider here for US and here for worldwide. You can buy the memory and take it to an AASP for installation, or buy the memory through them. Buying more memory directly from Apple will be more expensive, usually by a factor of 2.
