Sep 23, 2012 2:26 AM in response to holdregeby badbill_uk,Thought I would check my diagnostic reports on phone and found one called lowbatterylog this is what it contained:

As you can see I used my phone a lot yesterday and lasted really well. All I can think of is that when I first set my phone up I did it as a new device and then synced contacts ect with itunes.

Sep 23, 2012 3:36 AM in response to holdregeby ebrown711,OK folks. if you see my posts from yesterday after 33 minutes of usage i was down to 85percent battery life. Well so far this morning after 30 minutes of usage, my battery has only dropped to 95 percent. After reading a lot of posts last night i did a restore while in recovery mode and restored as new. Then i did a second restore the normal way and restored from an icloud backup. It seems to working a little better but i would still like to get better battery life than my iphone 4.

Sep 23, 2012 5:47 AM in response to holdregeby jdk5504,I currently have 10 hours of standby time and nearly 2 hours of usage and my battery is 87%. Whether that is good or bad, i am not sure. I have however done a complete charge from a dead battery. Not sure if this helps but that is what i am getting three days into the iphone 5!

Sep 23, 2012 10:31 AM in response to holdregeby t.katz,Its been almost 23 and a half hours since I dfu restored and recharged and its now at 71%. Far better then the 43% it was at after 10 hours.
I still can't say if it was actually the restore that worked or just a freak thing, hopefully some of the others that are doing the same will report back.

Sep 23, 2012 10:31 AM in response to zak725by Simon_Funky_G,I'm also noticing poor battery performance, in comparison to my iphone4 it isn't even half as good. let's just hope Apple look into this quickly given the claims of an improved battery performance. I also experienced interference on my screen which is different to the screen bubbling issues....
Let's hope these are teething problems

Sep 23, 2012 10:50 AM in response to holdregeby ilex1,Same problem. iPhone 5 battery drains really fast! An example, I'll start using at after a full charge and the battery will drain from 100% to 90% in a matter of a few minutes. Yesterday it drianed from 100% to 60% in a hour. Turned off Bluetooth and Ask to Join Networks in settings, still same problem. It also runs VERY hot, much hotter that previous iPhone I've owned, and I've owned all of them. Hope Apple fixes the battery and heat problems soon. I'll be carrying arround my charger all the time until it's fixed.

Sep 23, 2012 10:52 AM in response to ilex1by jsimon77,Yep...EXACTLY the issues I'm having. I made a genius bar appointment today but I'm not sure that's going to do anything.

Sep 23, 2012 11:24 AM in response to holdregeby peppersdad,I'm fairly sure this is an IOS6 problem. I still have my iPhone 4, which was upgraded to IOS6 a couple of days before I received my iPhone 5, and I see that it likewise is also losing battery charge at a much more rapid rate than before.
As for some of the solutions that have been proposed here, I haven't read any that I believe will work. I drained my iPhone 5 battery last night and then gave it a full recharge, but the problem is still persisting. I have not done a restore as some have suggested because that makes no sense to me given that my brand-new iPhone just had its settings installed two days ago from scratch.
