Q: Issues with my Iphoto

Whenever I open my Iphoto the curser shows a busy a signal and causes me to close out of Iphoto. It loads my pictures but immediately after I click, the busy signal stays.

I saw the process to fix this issue, but my fear is that my photos will be lost. I won't be able to back up the photos because I'm unable to open them.

PLEASE HELP.

You don't need to open iPhoto to back up. And you should have a full back up of all your important data all the time.

    Most Simple Back Up

Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.

    Slightly more complex:

Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically. Examples of such apps: Chronosync or DejaVu . But are many others. Search on MacUpdate

Ok thank you.. I may have just messed somthing up. Iphoto is asking me, "Do you want to switch the current iPhoto Library from "iPhoto Library" to "iPhoto Library_2" and relaunch iPhoto?" If i relaunch iPhoto will my old photo's be saved?
