I am on Bell and having issues as well.  I live in Port Moody, BC and I am supposed to have full LTE coverage, however, I am only getting LTE, if I am in the "heart" of Port Moody and not at my house.  However, with that being said, my phone is stating "3G" and I am getting the following on a Speed Test:

    Download 21.83

    Upload: 1.71

    Download is decent at least.

Defintely seems like the phone is not holding onto an LTE signal for very long.  It seems to flip flop from LTE to 3G, even in strong signal areas.

Today, driving on North Road in Burnaby, by Lougheed Mall, my iPhone 5 was showing no signal.  I had to reboot my phone in order for it to get a signal again.

    Not good.....

I wonder if this is just an overload to the system from high volume of people using it?

Just checked on Bell's self serve site and it looks like the phones are showing up as "unrecognized LTE device"??

Called Bell. It's a known issue in North York, at least. I bet this stretches much further.

No fix yet. Called Bell once again and they said that they added me to their "master ticket"

    Hmm...

Less than 1 hour ago, I received a txt msg from Telus stating the following...

"(1/2)  From TELUS, we have successfully completed all steps to fully resolve the issue you reported for trouble ticket 00000xxxxx"

Unfortunately, the persistent 3G connection (with supporting speedtest results) I'm still receiving would beg to differ.  While out earlier, I did find an LTE hotspot less than 1 block from a Bell/Telus tower.  But that LTE connection was lost less than 1 more block away.

The 2nd part of the Telus txt msg ...

"(2/2) Please call 1-866-558-2273 from a landline if you have any concerns. We thank you for your business."

    Will be calling.

Should mention that there are numerous Bell/Telus towers in our area, thanks to TowerLocator Canada app.

Either the apps data is wrong, or all those towers are not LTE enabled, as being claimed.

I experienced the same thing that you did earlier today at around noon. Drove to the nearest cell tower (I was about a block away), toggled airplane mode on and off, and it automatically connected to LTE. Drove another block down the street and I got thrown back to 3G. How frustrating.

So, I followed up with Telus about the txt msg mentioned above stating "we have successfully completed all steps to fully resolve the issue you reported" ...

Tech support reassured me that the issue has NOT been resolved, but because it is an issue being experienced by multiple iPhone 5 subscribers, the case has been escalated to a higher support team.  He said they are continuing to work on resolving the issue, but there is no estimated time when the issue will be resolved.

    We now wait.

I've got a bad feeling that it's a hardware issue. I'm headed to McMaster campus tomorrow, so I'll report back if I get any LTE coverage in that area.

My dads been experiancing the same issue on his unlocked iphone 5 on the bell network. I called bell for him and had him added to the "master ticket". Altough, on our way home today his phone did briefly connect to LTE. Once we got home it was gone?

Kinda frustrating since my iphone 5 on Rogers works perfect..

I have also had the same problem with Bell in Edmonton. LTE seems to drop out reverting back to 3g when traveling. I came form the Galaxy s3 and never had a problem  with LTE . It seems that this is a problem that's related to the iphone . Hopefully Bell can fix it. I will be calling them in the morning to get my name added to the master ticket.

in Edmonton too. Same problem, within my house, I connect to LTE for about 5 minutes then get dropped to 3G without moving a single inch. Whenever I restart my phone it briefly connects to LTE then drops again. I was also added to the "Master ticket" when I gave Bell a call. Wondering what is going on. My speeds on LTE are 26 mbps down and 18 mbps up, but when i m on 3G, my speeds are 6 down and 2 up.

S3 gets LTE at my house. iPhone doesnt.

I dont think it could be a hardware problem since my dads phone is unlocked. If i put my rogers sim in his it works fine. All i know is, is if for some reason this does turn out to be some weird "hardware" problem im not going to get it exchanged for a refurbished iphone at the apple store. i want another brand new one.
