Q: Aperture Not Opening

I tried repaired Permissions and Database but when launching Aperture it was still stuck on Opening iPhoto Library. I then right clicked on iPhoto library and opened with iPhoto. Quit iPhoto then right clicked and reopened iPhoto library with Aperture which finallty opened Aperture again.

FYI

Hope this helps others too.

Leo, I understand about not wanting to reinstall software but as noted above there is a problem with the new updates with iPhoto and Aperture as there are with Apples new Maps software on OSx6. Regarding your disappointed comment with Apple statement you must be new to the planet earth. ALL COMPUTER BASE SYSTEMS CODED BY HUMANS FAIL ALL THE TIME !! It is the world we now live in. Please get used to it. Apple contriols there system more than Microsoft and Linx so you should have LESS problems with there heavely controlled systems. Happy computing. BTW my cable DVR box just quit recording on me today and takes about 5 minutes to reboot. There store is closed today so I cannot record The Emmys tonight Oh Well.

well in my area, such errors are less of an acceptable option that it seems to be here (spacecraft are usually far away and tricky to fix)

    Leo,

    Last note:

I was working at The Cape and I asked some NASA Shuttle personnel why they rarely upgraded The Space Shuttle computers to the newer systems. They responded because they work. They had there own operating systems for those Shuttle computers, were very large, consumed excess power and caused cooling issues to boot. But a trade off for working All the time. A different era and philosophy that I long for today. Todays rushed out Consumer products will never have yesteryears expert attention to skilled patience, quality and detail. Leo Please continue your strives for perfection and try to foster those ideas in the younger generations. Mediocracy should not be any Goverment or Companies norm. Keep up the QC.

    Cheers

    Mark
