I have a Verizon iPhone 5 connected to a very fast LTE in the Tampa area, Siri have been taking way too long to even dial a phone number, its doing it on both wifi and LTE, is that normal? once it works its accurate though, any ideas?

Thanks

iPhone 5, iOS 6

i am on ATT.  for me, siri works about 80% of the time, regardless if i am on wifi or not.  i would say about half of the time it works, it takes a very long time (1 minute+) to receive a response.  the other half is usually pretty quick (3-5 seconds).  i want to say that off peak hours are better.  the times it does not work are usually long pauses followed by the standard siri msg stating she does not know what i mean, etc.

calling a number by voice dialing is excruciating - i had an apple 4 previously without siri and it worked very well, i am debating disabling the siri feature, but will give it another week to see if it is just mass congestion of the new devices on the market.

I'm also having this problem. I'm on AT&T. Does it just take Siri awhile to get used to you and how you pronounce things? Perhaps a little bit buggy and we'll see a fix in the next update?

IiPhone 5 Siri definitely slower responding that the 4S. Apple needs to be aware as it affects the traditional reliance on Apple products. I hope this is fixed soon.

    iPhone 5 on Sprint.

I'm assuming that Apple's Siri servers are being overwhelmed with all the extra demand of new iPhone 5 users.  Not to mention that Siri is now on 3rd gen iPads.

I hope Apple can address this issue ASAP.

Same problem here. I'd say 3/4 of the time, Siri pauses then eventually responds saying there was a problem. It's not the voice recognition because Siri shows me what I said immediately with excellent accuracy. I'd guess it's a server issue. I have the iPhone 5 on Verizon. It's definitely not the connection speed. I tested with the Speedtest app which showed 28Mbps down/up on LTE and 14Mbps down / 3Mbps up on wifi. This problem renders Siri almost useless. Most of the time, it's quicker to just manually perform a task or look up information. Lame.

I'm on Verizon network with LTE and Siri is very slow. This has to do with Apple server not the wireless network.

I am In the Tampa /St. Petersburg area on AT&T and Siri is really slow today. Is probably a bit overwhelmed I'm guessing. She's usually never this slow especially on my old  4S let alone the new LTE. Give it a few days.

I think we have to give it a few weeks at minimum unless Apple does something about it.

Since iPhones are backordered for a few weeks, more and more people are going to be on Siri in waves.  Not to mention that the new iPad now has Siri.

I think Apple has to step it up and throw more bandwidth/resources towards Siri to accomodate for all the new devices.

The same here.  Accuracy understanding me is excellent but today it's timing out despite fast connections.  Got to be Apple's servers being overwhelmed.

Same issues here on new iPhone 5.  Just upgraded from 3GS where voice control to make calls was instant and now waiting over a minute for Siri to respond.  Voice recognition is much better and it displays what I say instantly but the time to process is agonizing.  This is for all aspects of Siri not just calls.  Very disappointing!

Same here. Toronto LTE and very fast Wifi at home and work. Come on, Apple... get 'er done!

Same issue here. Siri is very slow half the time regardless of what network I'm connected too. Hoping its just an overwhelming amount of people using it at launch (the i5 launched in a few more countries yesterday).
