Went on Saturday and they told me that I could swap it for a service phone, since I did not have my box with me, or I could wait and bring in everything for a complete swap. They created a case and documented what they saw. The Apple employee also said that regardless of the cost of an item, if I am not satisfied to never hesitate to come in and talk to them. I want to do a complete swap and ***** that it happened to both phones we own, wife and I.

Literally just opened up my iPhone 5 32gb ATT. Because I already had heard about the scratches issue, the first thing I did was inspect it. Lo and behold, my phone has a nick just below the power button, which I took a picture of with my iPhone 4. Emailing Apple care now. Although it's small, it's still disappointing. Not sure if it's even worth asking for a trade in. My concern is if it's already damaged out of the box, how is it going to hold up in real life. I usually have a case on. Although Apple has been good to me in the past, by replacing for free an iPhone 4 with a broken screen, I don't see how they would have enough devices in stock to keep up with an issue like this, at least at this time.

That sure was a better experience. I plan on calling Apple again today. I'm not satisfied at all with the response I was given

Mateo1983..take it back! I just came back from the Florida Mall Apple store. Second time my phone was swapped out no questions asked. See my earlier post yesterday. I thoroughly inspected the phone before I accepted it. There is not a flaw on it. They were super cool about it and it only took a few minutes. I even stood there plugged in to one of their stations while my icloud restore completed.

I remember a similar issue with the iPhone 4. I was issue a case for my phone and also given an extended warranty. Or a discount on apple care. Chris from US

Nice discussion we got here. I'd like to sum and flatten things out.
First of all, I see people talking about the S3, which if kind of off topic. These are apple support discussion not what phone should I get forum. So if we can talk less bout the S3 it would be great.
I understand you have paid lots for this phone. UK £549 US $299? Anyways, apple aren't deaf. As said above Samsung made a mistake and when found out they stopped sales. Do you think apple are dumb to let so many customers sad and quit apple. As we all make a little issue into a mountain, apple are there fixing all of this. After tons of copies being made, should apple check them all? 70% are good. Maybe the case scratched in shipping?
Also stated above, people had issues with their iPhone 4S and they said apple fixed it when they found out about it and its issues. That's what they're probably doing now.
Can we stop pushing a scratch issue to higher limits.
I understand some are worried. But give apple a chance.
My input. Sorry if anybody is offended :p
If I helped, gimme a thumbs up!

The scratch issue is a huge deal! I wouldn't keep my lips sealed if i bought a new tv and it to come out of the box with scratches or scuffs. This is unexceptable! Apple may or may not be discussing what to do about the issue but obviously there are unhappy customers worldwide. Until they make an official statement on the matter people will post their pics, videos, and frustration with their brand new iPhones.
This thread is about scuffgate and you chose to respond to it. You have 2 options: read all of the further posts or unsubscribe.

People. If you don't care. Then don't take the time to respond to this thread. Go away. Read the subject of this thing. People just go out of their way to be rude.

First of all, if you keep complaining should apple fix it.or read your posts.
We get it. Issue with iPhones. This is just post boosting. The issue is on apples end. By sending pictures your not helping. I know it must be frustating but by attempting to start a protest or something your not co-operating with apple.
And please stop stealing my ending and thumbs up bit. You didn't use it before me.
Also, you didn't help. Your just adding fire to a topic.

We are not attempting to start a protest or anything along those lines. People come to forums, like this one you are on, to express their opinions and occasionally to upload pictures. By displaying pictures, people can see what they mean and what they find unacceptable.
From our point of view, you are the one telling us, the people, to shut up and therefore you are the one adding gasoline to the fire.
If I helped, gimme a thumbs up! (AKA helping you understand that you are on a forum!)
