Aug 4, 2012 10:12 AM in response to Nurcinby kevinfromsd,I have the same problem - was watching a movie and it disconnected from the network. Restarted the ATV and no wireless networks showed up - I brought it in and set it right next to my Airport Extreme and still - zero signal/networks showed up. Worked fine when I connected it with ethernet cable BUT that is not a solution the way I've got my TV set up. I've been searching for answers - but there don't seem to be any... Grrrr.

Aug 8, 2012 5:14 PM in response to kevinfromsdby idealcastle,I am currently having the same issue. Was working fine, then seems to lose all wireless conenctions. I was thinking of taken it back to Apple. However I'm currently running a full factory restore, which downloads the latest update, I'll see if this reconfigures itself. Fingers crossed.

Aug 8, 2012 5:30 PM in response to idealcastleby idealcastle,This was a fail. Did not work. Looks like its either faulty or its a firmware in the current software version. Downsides of autoupdates.

Aug 14, 2012 7:57 AM in response to Nurcinby idealcastle,I went back to Apple store, they replaced it. However the appletv is request I do an update, and I keep ignoring it now. I hope they dont do it without my premission. Auto-updates are nice, but I don't feel like going through the process all over again. If it's under warranty they will replace it at no cost.

Aug 14, 2012 11:08 AM in response to idealcastleby Laxman25,Just update it. You could have just got a bad ATV. I have the update and everything works smooth. you cant just never update it. What if its something that you want later down the line.
Just do it before going to work or something. Im sure it will all work out. Silly ?, but if you got in a car accident, would you never drive again?

Aug 14, 2012 12:13 PM in response to Laxman25by idealcastle,True. I was probably going to anyways. I love upgrading software. I just hope they have figured out that glitch, I was thinking it was part of a firmware upgrade. But anyways, if it doesnt work, I'll post here to update. Most likely it will, Apple is very good at their products.

Aug 19, 2012 6:34 AM in response to Nurcinby Cheeky-gio,I have the same problem. Funny thing is that I have two apple id's - one Swedish ans one American. This never happened as long as I used my Swedish one, then when I logged in to my American account. Bam. No more wifi.

Aug 31, 2012 9:47 PM in response to Nurcinby Falkirk18MPC,Well, all of my Apple TV 3's seems to be screwed up as well. Starting yesterday, the one in my son's room kept disconnecting when playing a purchased movie from the cloud. Kept saying "iTunes unavailable". Now the ATV in my living room won't find my wireless network (Airport Extreme). All other products including iPad, iPhone, MacBook Pro can find the network, and the ATV finds it for about 30 seconds after unplugging it and plugging back in... Since others are having the same problem, sounds like Apple has an issue with the product. I just wish they would realize it and fix it, since what ever the issue is has bricked both of my Apple TV's...

Aug 31, 2012 10:08 PM in response to Falkirk18MPCby Falkirk18MPC,Just wanted to add a few more facts. I just reset the ATV again, and it found the network, then after 5 minutes lost connection, then found it again about 10 seconds later. In addition, the data rate listed for the ATV in the irport Utility showed 5 Mb/s, then after it lost connection and connected again it was 65 Mb/s. Something isn't right since I haven't had 1 problem with either ATV since I bought them and I use them everyday... Anyone have any ideas?

Sep 3, 2012 4:48 AM in response to Falkirk18MPCby E30318is,Hi Guys,
I had two ATV 2's.
I gave one to a friend and bought a new ATV 3, becuase of the 1080p resolution.
I connected it up and it connected to the WiFi net work, 2.4GHZ.
I played a movied on it and half way through the movie it stoppped. I tried to re start it, but the ATV said there was no network connection. I have done full restores. I have unplugged. I reset every device in my house. And the ATV 3 will not connect to either 2.4 or 5GHZ.
On the other hand, my ATV 2 is perfectly fine. It connects to both frequencies.
I took the ATV 3 back to Apple and they replaced it.
I brought the new one back and had the same issue.
I'm just about to take this one back as well.
This is the only Apple product I have been dissappointed by.

Sep 11, 2012 1:15 PM in response to Nurcinby kswiss760,FYI - I took my ATV3 to the Apple store and they replaced it, no questions asked. I had been using it no problems for about two months.
On September 4 I noticed my ATV3 could not see any wireless networks. After some unsuccessful troubleshooting I took it to the Apple store on September 6. They quickly reproduced the problem in the store and replaced the black box, no questions asked. It has been working fine for five days.
I am not sure what broke on my first unit, hardware or software. And I am not sure if the new unit is running the same software as the old one.
Occasionally (once a day) the new unit will drop off the wifi, then quickly (less than a minute) reconnect. I am not sure if this is a problem with the ATV or my wifi network, I never noticed if the old unit did that.

Sep 25, 2012 8:19 PM in response to Nurcinby caseydilla,I have the same problem. My Apple TV 3 is only a few weeks old. It was set up fine, then suddenly, it can't find any wi-fi networks. The other devices in the house can find the network. I tried resetting. I tried to manually configure the network.

Sep 25, 2012 9:09 PM in response to Nurcinby E30318is,Hi All,
Guys I'm up to my 3rd ATV 3 in the space of a month. I think there was a bad batch. I had my first one brought it home it work for all of 5 seconds.
I returned this one to the Apple store and they tested it and they couldn't even get it to see a WIFI network.
They gave me a new one.
I brought the second one home. It worked for all of 10mins.
I took that one back, they texted it, same thing.
They gave me another one. I got them to text it for 30mins (as I was starting to doubt myself). It worked. I took it home and I haven't had a problem since.
I have two ATV 2' and they have never missed a beat. Now none of them do.
These things happen, the main thing is Apple are very supportive and are keen to get this resolved.
Hope this helps you all. (The ATV 3 is happy to connect to 2.4GHZ or 5GHZ).
