Sep 25, 2012 3:44 PM in response to Jdoodleby jstumpalump;150,Tried deleting the old connection from the phone and the headunit, reset the network settings, rebooted the phone and headunit and still it will not recognize stereo controls and will not show song data. Went into the bluetooth settings on the headunit and it does show A2DP as the streaming protocol so why it isnt doing any of the things A2DP is supposed to be used for, I cant figure out.
A trick I found to get my DNX6190HD to connect to the phone is you have to click pair on the phone THEN the headunit, if you do it the other way around it will fail every time.

Sep 25, 2012 4:02 PM in response to kwozyby deggie,Are you pairing to tether the iPad with the iPad?
You may need to clear the pairings off both devices and start over.

Sep 25, 2012 5:07 PM in response to dbridges2345by Viper8628,That's odd, the only thing I've been able to connect over bluetooth to my iPhone 5 is my Motorola S10-HD headphones. The iPhone 5 won't connect to my 2011 Hyundai Sonata or my Nike Fuelband.

Sep 26, 2012 4:36 AM in response to seripisby ninja_geezer,I also have a mazda 3 2010 with the built in bluetooth. with my iphone 4s no issues until i bought the new iphone 5 last week and now it connects but the in call quality is dire ! drop outs and distortion not happy !!
at least we know its not hardware now if people have this issue with theolder 4 and 4s phones.
lets see how quick apple can sort it.
i use this feature everyday for my work so i really need it sorting.
i wonder if i can put ios 5.1 on to my new 5 ?

Sep 26, 2012 6:03 AM in response to praveenkayby JonD,Enough already with the excuses! Is Apple reading these posts? My situation is identical to the ones above. I have a new Acura TSX and the iPhone 5 does not connect through bluetooth. My iPhone 4S worked fine. This is obviously complicated by the new operating system, iOS 6.
We need a fix and we need it now before you get someone KILLED! People are going to answer their phones one way or another and we need to have our phones connect to our systems.
GET ON IT!

Sep 26, 2012 6:14 AM in response to praveenkayby JTO_iPhone5,Hi all,
I know I'm not gonna help some of you who still are having issues with connectivity with their iPhone 5 bluetooth, but I found that the issue I was myself experiencing was, actually, a human error, not an Apple one.
I did rant a bit on this forum earlier (well not rant as such, just expressed annoyance at the fact that my device worked fine on iOS6 iPhone4 and failed to pair properly on iOS6 iPhone5) and it turns out that I was not following the pairing requirements properly.
After digging out hte manuals, reading upon the long forgotten pairing method, it all worked as should.
I now am the proud owner of an iPhone 5 that is paired with my VW car, my Jawbox, my logitech keyboard, and my Scala Rider for the bike!
Wish you all the best of luck!

Sep 26, 2012 6:38 AM in response to praveenkayby Mostly Theta,Well, JTO iPhone5 had my solution. I looked up the Pairing Guide for my Plantronics Pro+ and sure enough, I was able to pair and my phne was able to discover the headset almost immediately! Thanks JTO!

Sep 26, 2012 7:35 AM in response to praveenkayby Benster123,Greetings all!!
I had the same problem but don't worry - It works fine - you are simply doing it wrong. Here is the solution:
(You will feel like a dummy, but thats okay!)
- Go back and read the iPhone manual, Bluetooth section.
- Don't try to do this while driving.
- Take a deep breath and relax.
- Unpair/delete your old phone, although I don't think this is necessary.
- Make your iPhone 5 Bluetooth undiscoverable.
- IMPORTANT - Make sure you can see BOTH your car interface and your iPhone 5 display.
- From your car interface, tell your car to look for a new Bluetooth device.
- Now make your iPhone 5 discoverable.
- Look at your iPhone 5 display, NOT your car screen, your iPhone 5 will list your car and you must acknowledge by tapping the button.
- Once you acknowledge the link on your iPhone 5 first, THEN your car will pick it up.
- From here, everyone knows how to complete the pairing process.
The problem is that everyone is looking at their car screen/interface and ignoring the iPhone 5 during the pairing process. You must tap the button on the iPhone 5 in order to get the pairing process to go to the next step. Otherwise, the process times-out and your car thinks it can't find a device.
Good Luck!!

Sep 26, 2012 7:52 AM in response to Benster123by JonD,Hi
Got all excited when I saw your detailed solution, but what a let down. I ran out to my car and it did not work again. There is a problem with the software AND the new phone. My wife got my old 4S and it also has problems connecting.

Sep 26, 2012 8:07 AM in response to Maineapple99by Maineapple99,I wanted to update my initial post. BTW I am a new user to iphone and to smartphones and pretty new to Mac.
1. The first iphone5 (I had to replace it for a different reason) was paired by a verizon wireless employee to my jawbone headset. She had a little trouble, mainly figuring out how this particular jawbone device had to be pressed so that it would go in pairing mode.
2. I was confused because the headset was working in terms of bluetooth but the settings on the phone consistently said that bluetooth was off. I could not manually turn on bluetooth under settings. Within a day or two, this was no longer a problem. (Maybe I just had to turn it off and on to get this to work, not sure).
3. I was unable to pair to my apple keyboard because my computer kept pairing to it more quickly. I know it is possible to pair it I just need my keyboard for my computer so can't spare it for the phone.
----
On my new iphone5, I had to set it up with bluetooth on my own. It took longer than I expected, but all I had to do was turn on the bluetooth so it was in discovery mode and then make sure the device was in discovery/pairing mode. I think some folks may need to consult their manual.
I am very happy with Apple and Verizon staff who have been extremely helpful.
I appreciate all the assistance on this thread.
Good luck to all.
