Nothing changed. I am really stumped. I may have to bite the bullet and take this thing into a Mac store.

U were a huge help though- thank you very much. I have another question opened on my account if you know much about Parental Controls. I have another issue with those. It makes me enter my username and password each time I log into a website and I can not get it turned off. Maybe that is slowing it down also? Maybe that explains why the Windows side and my email works?

Boot into Recovery by holding down the key combination command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a gray screen with a spinning dial.
Note: You need an always-on Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection to the Internet to use Recovery. It won’t work with USB or PPPoE modems, or with networks that require any kind of authentication other than a WPA or WPA2 Personal password.
From the Recovery screen, select Get Help Online. A clean copy of Safari will launch. No plugins, such as Flash, will be available. Test. After testing, reboot as usual and post the results.

Parental Controls? Turn it off and test.

Can't turn off parental controls. Also, the internet worked when I was in recovery. Once i restarted normally, it didn't work again. I keep having to wait to respond because of it.

Create a new admin account, log into it, and disable Parental Controls. Then delete the new account if you wish. I recommend that you give your kids their own accounts (standard, not admin.)

I'm having similar wifi issues. If I'm on a site for more than a minute and click to go to a different site I get the "You are not conncected to the Internet" page. If I run through the network diagnositics it usually clears up and I can refresh the page and it will come up, or if I turn off wifi and turn it back on it works and I can refresh the page. However, shortly there after the cycle begins again. I rebooted in safe mode and was able to browse the internet with out any problems. As soon as I rebooted in normal mode I started haveing the problem again. What is the difference with safe mode? What do I need to do or disable that is affecting my wifi?

I'm having the same problem as you did have you gotten a solution yet? I've spent hours with apple and they blame the router.

I had these same sorts of problems. I think it is a dns issue. I recently changed mine to the google public dns 18.104.22.168 and it seems to work great now. I have had to change it a few times so i don't think this will be a permanent fix, but working so far.
