Why do you want the old iTunes 7?
iTunes 10.6.3 download:
iTunes 10.6.3 is the last version of iTunes to support Mac computers with Mac OS X 10.5.8 or PowerPC processors. Later versions require Snow Leopard on an Intel Mac:
Requirements for OS X 10.6 'Snow Leopard'
Whilst Apple have withdrawn Snow Leopard from download, you can still get it from Apple by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE (if you are in the USA) and they will supply the SL DVD for $30. You can also purchase the code to use to download Lion from the same number.
If you are outside the US call your national Apple Helpline:
If you're in the UK, use this number: 0871 508 4400
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.

Not $80, $30.
Kappy 08/2012 post on upgrading to Snow Leopard, then Lion or Mountain Lion - https://discussions.apple.com/message/19401628 - including how to get Snow Leopard and Lion since Apple removed them from the online store.
MacBook upgrade possibilities - https://discussions.apple.com/message/19577869 - "The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard. The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion. The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion."
By the way, you need iTunes 10.7 not iTunes 7. You need to get the terminology right when posting here or else we'll be telling you where to download a 6 year old version of iTunes.

I tried to download itunes 7 yesterday on my macbook osx 10.5.8
After reading through various threads and website I found that it is incompatiable with the version of osx I am running. Obviously I am unable to sync my iphone 4s with itunes or transfer my information to my new iphone 5.
Do I now have to hunt down a copy of snow leopard and spend $80 or more just to be able to use itunes again? Or is there any other solution to this issue?
Contact Apple ((800) MY-IPHONE (800-694-7466))
Tell them you have a new iPhone 5 and you need to update your OS but it is no longer available.
