PublishingWhen did it go in for review?

Sep 11, 2012 5:02 PM in response to K Tby Technically challenged 6612,It went in for review days ago, and was approved. I finished the .itmsp document and it was validated today, so I delivered the file this am.
I don't own and ipad yet, so I ran out to Best Buy to see if I could find it in the iBookstore. It had not shown up yet.

PublishingTitle? ..I'll take a look from here if you like.
Once you're appoved (days or more as noted above) It takes as long as it takes for the queue to clear that you're in before it surfaces in the store.
Did you release it to all stores as applies?

It is a children's picture book.

Sep 11, 2012 5:27 PM in response to K Tby Technically challenged 6612,Thank you so much for checking.
When I was at Best Buy, and looking at the bookstore, it seemed to have a limited search engine. It allowed me to view the children and teens category, which is very large. If I'm looking for a book for a toddler, I really don't want to wade through the entire category.
Am I right, or is there a way to zero in on age appropriate books?

PublishingI just hit the App Store in iTunes, then enter the search string, then hit books on the left. I'll make an attempt to browse the results, but I rarely browse a specific category these days...
Assuming your book was put in a specific category, it seems to be getting harder and harder to just browse, especially if that category is crowded - wading as you note is a task.
The store is changing as we speak, so I hesitate to suggest tactics otherwise right now, sorry. This means that even if you work at this moment to hone your search fu in the store, soon it will all change and you risk having to repeat. Big changes around the corner...
Back to your original query... as I said, it takes time for the backend to propagate new info once a book is approved...keep checking over the next several hours and good luck

Sep 11, 2012 5:42 PM in response to K Tby Technically challenged 6612,I'm usually very late in embracing new technology. However, among the writers and illustrators I know, I'm the first to give ebooks a try. Knowing I'm jumping in while it's evolving is fine.
It will be great if we discover we no longer need to be at the mercy of book publishers.

Sep 27, 2012 6:17 AM in response to Technically challenged 6612by hollowaymcc,I just found your book--If I Were I Bumblebee--on the iBookstore. Looks great!
I finished uploading my iBooksAuthor file and preview file for Princess Diamond and the Baseball Toad, a kids' picture book with widget-based read-aloud and slideshows, Wednesday September 26th at 12:30 a.m., and it was on the iBookstore by 1 p.m. that same afternoon. Less than 12 hours! I was completely shocked because earlier in the year the waits were much longer, and the book had audio and video that I assume needed reviewing.
Now my challenge is discoverability. The book doesn't even show up in the "New" section of the Chidlren's Fiction category even though it pubbed yesterday. I'm very curious about what changes might be coming for the iBookstore. One big wish is for a "gifting" function.

Sep 27, 2012 8:05 AM in response to hollowaymccby Technically challenged 6612,Thank you so much for checking for me.
I later discovered there was a minor problem with the file I submitted, and after fixing and resubmitting, my book was in the store the next day.
Like you, I need to figure out the best way to market it. Someone mentioned a site called UTales, which I'm looking into. Also, I want to utilize YouTube in some way.
You book looks wonderful! Very creative. Unique.
