Mountain Lion keeps logging user out...

    Daibodhisattva. Apparently 10.8.2. solved a lot of issues for people on this forum, unfortunately it didn't for me. I 'm still experiencing dailly random log outs as a result from windowserver crashes.


    I wanted to ask you if there is a way to report this to apple in a way that the message gets across more convincingly. Is there an email address or a developpers forum where I could get some help?

    Yes. .  Fill out as clear and thorough a report as possible, and if they ask for more information, send it.

    Hi, I've been lurking a bit on this post, just seeing what others have been experiencing. I had the same initial issue - Mac Pro, 2 graphics cards, one monitor in each, multiple logs out in a very short space of time. I downgraded to Lion as I didn't want to sacrifice my second monitor.


    What are people's experiences after a week or so with the latest update? I know some are saying they're still having issues but I think that's with a slighlty different configuration than the one the original post is all about.


    Just wanting to check before I try the upgrade again! Also, I still have the 'Install OS X Mountain Lion' download on my machine. I'm guessing that won't install the most up-to-date version will it? Am I best to redownload form the Mac App Store to ensure I get the most recent update?

    I submit through the developers area as well as I find it's the one Apple watches and responds to.  As much as I hate to say this to everyone here, the 10.8.2 solution worked for me on all of my machines, however I did notice the more I worked, the more I experienced small bugs, crashes when shutting down, etc.  I use a variety of software packages for my work incuding xcode, Adobe Master Suite, Maya, Unity, Final Cut Suite, etc... so the number of very complex professional programs I use is extensive, and I'm certainly a power user.  The more I worked the more problems I noticed started popping up.


    I finally bit the bullet and did a fresh clean install of 10.8.2.  I must say... that did the trick in every case.  I have been running nonstop for two days with not a single error, slowdown, crash... running flawless. 


    I've had to do a clean install with both Lion and ML at this point.  I am a firm believer in updates online, but copmlete OS updates I'm starting to think still has it's challenges as any Windows user will agree.  Seems like regardless of Mac OS, or our brothers and sisters in the Windows world... when eventually you have to wipe the drive, copmlete format and install all fresh and new.  It's a day of lost productivity, but from my experience and ... this was exactly what I needed... my system is running perfect now.

    Thx for the info !!! I did suspect you were using an alias... I'm not a developer, hence I can't post my reports, as you need to be registered.... Any other way I can make progress with this bug ??

    I think Apple focuses mainly on the developers considering the millions upon millions of reports they would/do receive from the public.  As you can see, even in this thread, the original problem was multiple monitors plugged into multiple cards.. yet many are posting on completely unrelated issues, etc.  As a part of my, and several other developers bug report, I have sent system reports, as well as links to this thread for them to review and follow.  They have contacted me serveral times for reports, tests, etc.  So I do know they are reviewing here, and the issues.  Lion took about 4-5 months to really get solid.  I expect no different from ML. If you've updated your system and haven't reinstalled in a while (and of course if your situation allows so).. I'd highly recommend a fresh install as it will clear up a lot of issues you may not realize you had. 


    Before I reinstalled, I noticed hundreds of files that were not longer working in ML, moved to a safe folder.  When I reinstalled I was shocked at how many of my applications needed new versions or updates and simply would not funciton well until I did so. 


    I don't want to sound like a fan boy here as I'm a professional developer.. but the reality is, when an OS is updated, the software developers are given huge amounts of advance notice to update their software.. many simply do not, and situations like this begin to happen. The line where it is a true OS bug, vs software errors after updating... thus you have some people getting peace after the 10.8.2 update... others having new issues, variations of the issues, or different issues all together... it's a 1+1=2 thing.. New OS, clean new softward designed for the OS equals happy people... but it's not a perfect worlds, and all of us still have software, freeware, shareware that we've had for ages lurking on our drives which we never use anymore... hidden away and causing errors..


    I was completely shocked at the amount of crud that had accumulated even since I installed Lion.. my reinstall sped up my boot time by about a full minute (very fast now).. as well freed up over 70 gb of space...

    My Macbook Pro early 2011

    2 GHz Intel Core i7

    8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

    running on Mountain Lion 10.8.2


    It happens to mine recently, keeps logging out randomly when mostly I am playing Google Chrome, C4D and Adobe. It auto re-opens all of the apps the last time opened when logging back in but the all the downloads or un-saved projects lost. It's real frustrated.


    I don't know either the problem comes from the cards for RAM I replaced or the system itself or what but it just happens recently and causes a lot of trouble while doing the work.


    Please help me .

    No I don't have external monitors connected.


    This keeps happening for some reasons I dont know. SOmetimes it just quits for no reason. Sometimes it's due to Google Chrome, one page is appearing "Aw Snap" then the next second, my laptop's logged out . One other time my Bluetooth speaker just stops all the sounds and then the whole thing is logged out again

    Is your computer's screen very light blue faded in/out before and after it log out?
