Sep 25, 2012 6:39 AM in response to Widdiby Ben Hunt,My iPhone 4 has suffered the same fate uponp trying to upgrade.
I've updated iTunes, restarted my PC (Windows7), and every time it's the same.
My phone is now unusable.

Sep 25, 2012 7:55 AM in response to Widdiby writer_in_virginia,Had same iphone4 problem as you. Tried every single recommended measure -- none worked, including deleting the upgrade file (iPhone4,1_6.0_10A403_Restore.ipsw) and starting over. All software is totally up to date, and all security softare is off, and remaining space on the hard drive is enormous.
Even contacted AppleCare and worked at great length with a fantastic supervisor. After what seemed like over an hour, she had no answer either to solve the 3014 ongoing error. Is the answer going to an Apple Store for help? Please Apple, we'd be most grateful for an answer to this upgrade mystery.
If you can't get the ios6 upgrade to go, don't resort to trying to restore - like I did, as that will put you into recovery mode. Once that happened, got more 3014 errors, and some -1 errors.

Sep 26, 2012 4:40 AM in response to writer_in_virginiaby Ben Hunt,I've also updated iTunes, restarted, tried the upgrade numerous times, every time remaining in recovery mode.
I even tried a custom downgrade to IOS5, which still generated the same errors and left me in recovery mode.
I'm considering a trip to the Apple store too.

And your fellow users are very annoyed with your ignorance and laziness.
Nothing about the issues reported in this thread are related to problems in the update. They are issues with the user's computer not being able to install the update.
READ!
If you'd like to drop the attitude and politely ask for help, I'm sure someone would be willing to point you in the right direction.
The OP had found the answers, they were in the link the question was posted from. Tonefox was nice enough to post a direct link to the specific section of that article that explains how to resolve the error that is occurring.

Sep 26, 2012 11:09 AM in response to Widdiby writer_in_virginia,Bypass your router. Go direct from your modem to your computer.
That's how I just solved my constant 3014 and -1 errors, while repeatedly trying to upgrade to IOS6.
It was a suggestion from an Apple Senior Technician.
This solved days of iphone stress. Wish I had known this.
Hope this helps others!

Sep 27, 2012 12:28 PM in response to writer_in_virginiaby vally2niner,can you explain that fro an idiot - i have a wireless router which my imac is connected to wirelessly - are you saying i need to plug an ethernet cable into it?
-
Sep 27, 2012 12:40 PM in response to vally2ninerby writer_in_virginia,Not really.
Your wireless router is getting its "IN" signal from a source. Connect an ethernet cable directly to that source.
By-pass the router. Because it may be affecting the transmission from Apple servers. Mine was.
ALSO...
You may need to set-up a new administor account on your Mac or PC. Make sure it has admin priveleges.
See this for instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694#error3014
But definitely, bypass that router.
You may be minutes away from enjoying your iphone again.

Oct 7, 2012 8:18 AM in response to diesel vdubby barrocka,Dear diesel Vdub, thank you so much for your wisdom, and I have certainly grown as a man as a result of your constructive comments, and only wish I could be more apatehtic like you seem not to be, and tech savy too! Apple replaced my phone, which had a terminal issue, unconviently timed with the update, regardless of the countless threads I puresued to recitify.
Perhaps my outburst was unreasonable, but then, you didnt need to respond so critically either. I had my moment of rant-glory, as a frustrated & non-tech-nerd user here, and you had yours, berating me so, touche!
Again, thank you for pointing out the error of my ways.

Jan 30, 2013 5:07 AM in response to Widdiby Serenethy88,Each time I get that problem I uninstall Itunes and reinstall it and then it works for me. I have no idea why but it works for me.
