My question is, how did that account creep into my iphone, and should I be concerned that it would happen again and what would be the consequences?

It could be that you shared an App or music with somebody, or that someone has used your previous iPhone for iMessage or FaceTime.

Just got it yesterday, ordered from Apple Store App.

Nope, if that's the case, it would have seen the symptom there(previous iphone4) also. I don't know anyone that uses 163.com.

I have the same problem. When updating 'words with friends' I get an unknown apple id email address. This happened just after I did a factory reset. All content and settings.
I have not shared any content with anyone else but my wife, and it is definitely not her id either.
What is going on here? Has this phone been used previously? I ordered it from Telstra (Australia) on the day iPhone 5 was released. If this phone has been owned by someone else previously I would be surprised.
Now I wonder who else has this problem? Perhaps my apple ID is appearing on someone else's phone? Very worrying if you ask me.

Mine is 2 days old, ordered from Verizon and it is doing the same thing. The email that appears on mine is an aol.com email. I still have no idea how it got there and who the email belongs to.
I'm curious if someone else had this phone for a day before it was sent to me.
